What Are Your Unpopular Opinions In Wynncraft?

It literally is, though instead of just “darkness,” it’s called “corruption” or “decay.” Light and darkness combining has absolutely no meaning, because those terms aren’t defined and are just used to say what’s good and what’s bad. So if something is corrupted, decayed, dark, etc., it’s just inherently bad for no reason.

Time Valley got ruined by making it only important for one single quest instead of keeping it an interesting mystery that could have been explored through several quests and keeping the door closed until later. Also old Mt. Wynn > new Mt. Wynn.

 

They created it by complete accident and it does not reflect on the morality of either side. The Taproot quest literally states that the Light aims to create a land of happiness and that its entire power is derived from the good in the world, while those who worship darkness just want to destroy everything. The two are very clearly divided into good and evil.

And again, what's the fuss about getting rich? What do you even need to buy?

 

I think the problem is mostly that it's so black and white. You have a villain which is good, and a good guy who defeats the villain. What they could have done is show us the dark side's perspective, and their motivations. For example: in most AC games, you play as an Assassin, and you're being told that all Assassins are good and all Templars are evil. But in AC3, you play the first part as Haytham, thinking you're an Assassin - and only later do you find out he isn't. That game imo does a really good job on showing there isn't a clear line between good and bad. But in Wynn, it's just 'you're good because you're not greedy, and they are so they're bad'. The Dark Realm is supposedly bad because they love destruction, which is treated as their motivation, but why they love destruction is never explained.

Also;
We should have higher level quests in lower level areas
The entire Rymek/canyon area is vastly underused
Mana regen should not be tied to intelligence, at all.
Intelligence is ridiculously overpowered
Defense should at least somewhat affect elemental damage
Strength and Dexterity need to be applied after all other buffs (IE dexterity should give straight up double damage for a crit)
Strength and Dexterity should affect each other, as you are basically sacrificing all semblance of defense to use them
Boss arenas, with a few exceptions, are really bland
Boss altars, with a few exceptions, are really bland
Most endgame content should be impossible to solo
We need more replayable content
There should be a system in place that lets you rerun quests with a damage and health scalar to make it roughly as difficult as it would be at level, or harder

to be fair, they DO seem to be expanding on Time Valley. The new Ice Barrows quests uses it, and more will be coming, probably

Also LI should’ve added new mechanics to each boss
And Boss drops should drop for anyone who damages the boss. There should be no reason you get punished for being a healer or tank
The fire powder special should cause all enemies hit by it to aggro on the player casting it so that fire tanks are actually useful
Boss altar, Legendary and Mythic weapons should all give special bonuses or change a spell in some way

Well, perfect time to give feedback. Which ones are boring? It's not super possible to fix them up right now due to our limited capacity, but I can keep it in mind for the future if that changes.

 

A few more of mine:
- Wynncraft should prioritize making new content rather than revamping old stuff.

- The Detlas revamp might be the exception, since apparently it needs a cleaner layout or something.
- Yes, the revamped towns look amazing IMO. I'm just saying that if I had to choose between a new island and a terrain revamp, I'd choose the island.​

- Grinding mobs is surprisingly relaxing.
- Using glitches or bugged features doesn't make you better than other people.
- Amadel was an underwhelming villain.

- Sure, he decieved you, but in WynnExcavation Site D he turned into a "mwahhahah i am an evil mastermind that manipulated you and wants to rule over everyone"​

- People who call out threads for being spam or shitposts aren't contributing to anything by making those comments.
- If you hate the quest and have done it twice already, it is perfectly reasonable to right-click through all the dialogue.

- Exceptions include if the quest got revamped since you last played it.​

- Undergrowth Ruins is boring.

- The two segments where you have to get tokens take way too long. Slykaar wasn't very challenging either, and I didn't find the slime parkour to be very exciting.​

I find quests extremely unfun (especially the fetch quests, in which you go to an NPC, then go somewhere else, then get something, then go back, then talk to another NPC, ...) and I hate how quite a lot of interesting content is gated behind them.

And I find going from 75 to 100 without CSST and quests a little bit too hard, but that's me, I guess.

@Edit: some other things

- CSST is just cancer, but that's not unpopular
- I'm not fan of the music
- I find most cities too big and too hard to navigate. Fun fact: took me more than 2 hours telling guildies to eff off while I tried to make my way to Rodoroc from Cinfras
- I find lore in general useless. I can see why people like it, but I just consider it boring and useless
- How trade works just sucks

 

im seeing a lot of anti-mythic comments so heres my 2 cents

I don't know why people think Mythics being rare or expensive is an awful thing, their rarity gives an extra challenge to higher level players, even if its pure rng, which some peeps are fine with; and its not like theyre oober powerful and you need one to have any success in the game. Same goes for them being expensive, if you think they're too expensive then don't buy one.

As for "to get rich you need to find a Mythic" this is completely false, I made 2 stacks in 2 days off of powders and there are also many other things to sell and many other things to do to get rich.

tl:dr Mythics are fine, leave them alone.
