Since the contest is finished. I'm going to judge everyone who didn't win and chose the ones I like the most.

Or you know, don't assume I am joelous becouse this is the first time I actually won the contest.
And if you paid any attention to ho the first place was, you'd realise that IT WAS HALLOWEEN THEMED.
So I guess I wouldn't be angry about that skin winning, and you know what? I wasn't.
Yet you along with 13 other people did.

If the skin contest isn't going to be halloween themed, then thee's literlly no reason to do it in any other month.


Buuut Simple! All other months are packed with content themed around that specific month!

Other than christmas and maybe easter and maybe even new years eve, what other holidays are there that would prohobit skin contest being there?

Not that I'm saying YOU were the specific person that got triggered. This is a message to the one person that got triggered.



btw, I'm angey becouse 1 skin was once again a generic mage and the two were kinda halloween themed.

 

“Hallowynn” themed as in make a costume of your choice. Even for the past two events it’s always been like this. We’ve had winners such as wybels in a trench coat and a warrior based off the game artwork — both not frightening at all. Think of it more as a costume contest similar to how Halloween in real life works.

Good luck to your leftover contest nevertheless. It’s nice giving runner ups a reward especially after the plagiarized skin.

 

Then I suggest changing the title from "Hallowynn skin contest" to "skin contest". Halloween is more than just wearing a costume, it's also about spooky scary stuff, even when it's just jokes.

The keyword there is "also", implying that it's not only spooky stuff. It's spooky in addition to other things. However, I do agree that a more defined theme should have been present, such as "spooky" like I assume most people wanted. Even if they didn't go full spook, I at least think that entrees should have been judged based more on actual execution. I saw some good shaded entrees that obviously took some effort that were blown out of the water by generic low-effort hardly shaded skins. For example, the #4 site mage skin was much more well done than the 1st and 2nd place winners. The 1st place is hardly shaded, and in addition to that, the way the pumpkin head is shaded compared to the rest of the body makes me think that they aren't part of the same base skin. As for 2nd place, it's miles better than 1st. It may not have the best shading, but the shading is definitely better than #1. It also has some actual design and details going into it. You can tell effort was put into that skin. The lunar mage should have beaten the pumpkin mage hands down. The pumpkin mage should be down with the purple ender dragon devourer, which also almost completely lacks shading. Three mages, and out of them, #4's wynncraft site mage should have beaten the other two. It is the most well-executed design compared to them all. Alas, what are ya gonna do. Can't change the results now.

tl;dr - I don't think that judging process was done like it should have been. I strongly disagree with the ordering of the top participants, and saw some other skins around the site that should have made it in the top 5.

I'm glad someone is giving the other people a chance, especially those that put real effort into their skins. Hopefully @SimpleFlips can do it right, and people actually take this opportunity to get their work out there.

I'm gonna disagree on that point. I don't particulary like "well shaded" skins, as you put it, becouse ofte times they're judged on looking pretty but not on being creative. That's why I'm suprised that they even have chosen my Devourer skin over Flesh Amalgam. The 'HIGH QUALITY' skins are often the most boring ones. They're often: "generic wynncraft class", or "generic knight". Thjis reminds of a time at the begininng, of minecraft when I was first getting to making skins, I along with my friend would be making skins for our accounts and we did it on MinersNeedCoolShoes site. On that site people could like a certain skin if they were good, so naturally there were a lot of highly voted skins on the site. The thing is A LOT of them were re-colors of the particular knight skin. So my fried decided to make one, I on the other hand thought that was low quality effort and decided to make my own skin. How did that turn out? My skn maybe had gotten 1 or 2 likes, while my friend's re-color got hundrets. That's why I hate making 'high quality' skins, becouse often they are very unimaginative and mass produced. And while I saw some creative skins e. g. 1st and 2nd place, I still would like more that skins in the skin contet would be more, or at least equaliy judged on how creative they are, rather than how "proffesional" they're looking.

Is that the actual devourer skin? But yes, I would admit that my devourer skin was low effort, becouse I didn't though he would actually win. I was literally suprised that they picked that skin over Flesh Amalgam, which I think had WAY more detail.

I would semi agree on that, I also saw some really high quality skins, but I still would have chosen creative over high quality.

Well thank you for you post! While I disagree on how skins should be judged, I'm still happy that I get a tiny bit of support. Unfortunetly seeing as noone decided to enter their skin I don't think there are going to be any winners from this contest.

 

I mean that they should have chosen more on detail maybe, but not JUST detail. Creativity is important, I do agree. I didn't see all the entries, so maybe I'm missing something here. I don't think your skin is bad. I might have been a bit too harsh in my attempt to get my point across.

 

Oh, now I understand it better. I gota admit I only saw one other entry, so I can't really judge either. Also I do think thjat my skin wasn't really good. I was thinking that the would choose Flesh Amalgam (the one I linked in my reply). The Devourer was more on the lines of getting higher probability of winning.

 

At this point I think I could just post my skin and get a free 4le
