    It has 3 layed of depth actually but I mean I was lazy and doing it on a superflat which wouldve been a pain

    Not bad, but the it does kinda look like swiss cheese
    I think it would better if it were more flat with some cliffs that have trees on them, like pop outs of the mountain the fit with the bottom

    Also I think the rocks on the left should be more pointed and slightly smaller

    overall, pretty good!

    The two main problems with using spiky topped mountains and terrain are that they create a more hostile and less appealing atmosphere, and or they attract too much unwanted attention to themselves. When a mountain has a pointed or spiky top it often creates a much more creepy or unnerving atmosphere. This being because of the inherent-ness of spiky things in our monkey brains (Thorns, spears, sharp rocks, teeth, et cetera) are all things that our monkey brains don’t like because they hurt us, and incorporating things like that into the environment adds that sort of feel too it; even if that added feel is very minimal. In fact when people were attempting to design a way to show that a place was full of radiation and that people should stay away, it was considered that putting up signs of a person staring at a field of spikes would let people know (without knowing a language or meaning of a symbol) that this place is not a place to be. However, they did not go with this because it was also thought that this sign could be perceived as saying that there is a challenge to be faced or focused on. Which leads to the second problem, they create focal points.


    When making a render or painting a painting, creating perspective lines and focal points is very useful for guiding the viewer's eye to look at something in particular, but in wynncraft terrain, you don’t want that. Because terrain in wynncraft is often a border, and not meant to be a centerpiece of anything. It’s just meant to be there and be a nice (I use that word purposefully) border to not interfere with gameplay nore look bad. That's Why most terrain is rounded ish or flatted at the top. The inherent properties of a dome apply to. Which are that there are no focal points, and they create a much nicer (meaning lacking hostility not better) atmosphere.

    P.S. I know what you said was a joke, but I have seen in the past that you are good at learning new things and hearing arguments counter to what you think.
