Alright we have to talk about the new textures. First iteration of the textures were alright, they weren't bad. Second iteration was definitively the peak.

Most of the textures remained unchanged but the ones that do need to be changed were, and it was a good change it did not stray to far away from vanilla, as it retained its original color schemes so color gradients still worked fine. But in the latest itteration:

    WHAT WAS JAPPA SMOKING!

Andeside, looks like fucking gravel, sand stone and sand is 100% identical, and the grid like pattern in the blocks are CRAZY (there are those streaks . Also now, they have broken their promise in saying that the textures were going to be an "optional add-on" it now comes default with the 1.14 update. Sand is strayed so off color that it can NO longer be paired with endstone or endstone bricks, it is more of an orange color than "sand color". This is a huge INSULT to Vinila builders who have spent years perfecting color gradients and unique styles based around the vinilla textures. This also is a massive blow to plugin makers as many programs will now break down or even stop working as a whole (such as /image or the masks #darken or #lighten masks), as the colors are completely different. The new textures are complete and utter bullshit.

First they decide to change block IDs and now they are changing all the fucking textures to shittier versions. Especially Granite, literally looks like something from Mario.

I am pissed. What do you guys think?

P.S. please excuse me if I curse. I normally don't, but... I am just so angry.

I think you're overreacting and need to stop.
You know resource packs exists, right? If you hate those textures so much, then change them yourself, nobody is forcing you to keep the new ones.
Ah yes, the classic "this update ruined minecraft" people like to yell before immediatly getting used to said update one week later. Dont follow this path, please.

I only use the wynnpack, so...

Still though, most of the changed vanilla textures don't fit in with the original ones, and weren't really needed changes.

I think one great thing that Minecraft has that very few other games have is that it's so customizable. Don't like survival mode? You can play creative. Don't like that either? Play dozens of (mini)games on dozens of different servers. Want to enrich the base game? There are over ten thousand mods you can install that change the game. Don't like some textures? Install one of nearly thirty thousand resource packs.
So I really don't see how anyone can complain about the new textures when they could easily download the old textures and use those. Personally, I don't think the new textures are that bad. I can imagine people getting nostalgic over the old textures, which is why they reject the new ones.

Also, shouldn't this be in the 'Minecraft' section? I think it fits better there.

Well the reason that I build in vanilla is so that everyone can enjoy what I do without downloading a resource pack but now that mojang has "defaulted" these new textures, builds made for vanilla are not going to look as good as they used to for everyone else, unless people take their time and download a what seems to be a "worse" version of the textures. Which is not, some builders like me worked hard to make our builds look good with the default texture pack, working our butts of figuring out gradient patterns at 1.12. Now they announce a texture change?!? Thats like a huge punch in the gut. the "Vanilla minecraft look" has been completely stripped away which makes me kinda sad.

Also mojang broke their promise. They said! That the pack was going to be an optional add on, and not defaulted to the game. BUT if you look at the snap shot the textures are there as soon as you load the game, it IS the default texture. I am not even mad right now, just disappointed.

I know right! I have a friend who is an aspiring mod maker, and he is worried about the new texture cause the new, vanilla stone and ores are so well made that it is an absoblute pain int he arse to replicate it in his own mod xD (kind of ironic right?). If he used his old textures they would stick out like a sore thumb among the newer ones.

I don't really remember them saying that. What they actually said was that "these changes wouldn't be implemented into Java Edition until we got [the community's] feedback". In a way, it would be coming sooner or later. It is quite amazing how they have left it that way for more than 9 months now.

Needless to say, the reason why they have been working so hard for these textures is because they want to improve the experience for newer players. Minecraft's major forte was not its graphics, so it is natural for Mojang to employ actual texture designers to improve it. If anything, alongside with the new stairs, walls and slabs, I think many builders would love this update as "the update that revolutionized building"!

Although they implemented the textures only in the snapshots for now, it is not final. They are still looking for feedback on it. I don't agree with all the textures either, but I am not a person to appreciate art too much, so unless I can point out what's wrong with it, I can't really criticize.

Alright, I’m just gonna point out that the old resource pack is currently implemented in the new snapshots from the get go. Also, quit whining. Just because it’s new does not mean it’s bad, and just because there are some textures I dislike does not mean that the entire project should be scrapped
