Ruby checks to see if she recognizes the soul as she heads to the back, looking for any sets of claws already forged.


"Oh, right... uhm, maybe if there's costs for having lived in the palace this year, you could count those debts repaid? I don't have any bank accounts or money on-hand or anything." Amethyst admits, feeling a bit awkward.

Have you ever considered trying to rebuild your home?

Upon reaching the gate, it seems to be a mostly transparent portal leading to the inside of a ship, Idhaenna tinkering with a console next to the gate a bit.
"I'm sending you to an arkship. Try not to mind the family dynamic there, most of its crew has spent all of the last seven years on board."

 

It seems somewhat similar to another soul she saw in the town, but it's hard to tell.

A few sets of claws of varying sizes are hung up on one of the walls among other weapons. Some seem to be longer, while others with some mechanical improvements to make the claws somewhat retractable. Some only have three large claws, while others have four sets of two smaller serrated claws.


Leilia chuckles.

"You're our honoured guest! You needn't pay for your stay here! If you wish, I could see to it you're given a bigger and better room, you appear to have been a little stuffed in your current one." Leilia says happily.

 

"No. I could, but it's an entire city to rebuild. There are some scavagers in the city, so maybe they could help."

 

Ruby takes out one of each kind, setting them on the counter.
“If I wind up needing help helping you, I can get my boss.”


“No, I insist I keep the one I have. I’ve been nothing but a burden cast upon you and your people, it doesn’t take ancient knowledge to understand the need to repay you for your kindness.” Amethyst says, bowing.

You could maybe make a sanctuary for your pack if you did rebuild. It might also help you pass time waiting for the wedding.

 

I shrug.
“I’ll remain adjustable.”

 

“Point is, they might not open up to you for a bit. Also, don’t expect this to be particularly quick... augmenting you is their task, yes, but they have plenty of other concerns.”

 

“Luckily, I’m in no rush.”

 

"Oh, can I test these?" The fire guardian asks.


"That's awfully kind of you, Amethyst. I'll see you receive something nonetheless." Leilia says, smiling.

 

“Yeah, here.” Ruby nods, summoning a training dummy.


“If you insist.” She says, standing up. “Hopefully Lady Gaia will see it at some point. At least, if she’s as nice as people say... I’d hope she’d like it.”

“Xlentia, however, doesn’t have all year. Hopefully they’re welcoming to you, though.”

 

The fire guardian takes the claws and tests them by slashing the dummy, proving most effective with a pair of retractable ones.

"How much are these?" The fire guardian asks, putting the retractable claws on the counter.


"Our forest guardians have maintained good relations with Lady Gaia, perhaps you could try to convince her to visit us?" Leilia suggests.

 

Ruby telepathically links with Vexa.
“Hey, sorry to bother you, how much are the retractable claw sets?”


“If I finish with time left before the holiday, I’ll try. I’d hate to try and show off an unfinished costume to a bigger audience.”

 

"What's it made of?" Vexa asks.


"Do you want help?" Leilia asks.

 

Ruby scans the claws.


“While I’d appreciate that, I don’t know if there’s anyone else able to successfully work on this. It’s far more than just sewing, plus I’ve had far more time to hone my skills. Did I ever tell you just how old I am?”

 

They appear to be mostly made made of a special kind of steel and carbon mix. Rubies are carefully lined up over each knuckle, and there seems to be red dragon scales covering the gauntlet.


"I don't believe you have." Leilia says, intrigued.

 

“Steel, carbon, ruby knuckles and what I hope are faux dragon scales.”


“Well, I’m not keen on giving my exact age, so you’ll have to settle for knowing I’m older than Earth.”

 

"Seven hundred and twelve gold, and fifty silver." Vexa replies.


"That's...quite the age!" Leilia says positively.

 

“Alright, thanks. And... those dragon scales are fake, right?”
“Sorry about the wait. Boss says it’s 712 gold and 50 silver.”


“I’ve been around a while, yeah.” Amethyst chuckles.

 

“One can only hope for the best.”

 

"No. Shed scales." Vexa says.

"Oh, um, I don't have that much on me right now. Do you mind if I come back in a bit with the right money?" The fire guardian asks, turning red in embarrassment.


"I'll change back and return the dress to you, then." Leilia says, smiling despite shooing Amethyst out of her chambers.

 

Idhaenna nods.
“Well, warpgate’s ready. You’ll need to let the crew know if you want off the ship, they’re currently pretty far off.”

“Good. Hey, where’d you find them, anyways?”

“Not a problem, I’ll hold on to them for you.”


Amethyst nods, already having had moved towards the door and leaving within moments.
