"Well, how many emotion-bearing entities exist here?"

 

“Two sets of eyes and fangs. Since when was that normal?” Ruby asks.


“Sure. It’s a one-piece, meant to be a costume for you. Would you mind doing so in a provate venue? I hope to surprise everyone with it, including you, once it’s finished.” Amethyst nods, still hauling out a mass of fabric from the doorway.

“Roughly 172 Quinquavigintillion scanned across 40% of all charted galactic sectors.”

 

"That's...strange. I've never heard of anyone like that before." Vexa says, puzzled.


"Certainly." Leilia says happily, changing to her larger form in a bright flash of light and picking up the clothes with ease.

 

"I'm surprised that you cane across that conclusion, then. Well, it's not so much of a conclusion yet, but you get my point."

 

"Well, now we've done business with one." Ruby shrugs.


Amethyst winds up getting dragged along with the dress, which looks somewhat like a mess of blues, greens, and white. After a second, she jumps out and glides back down to the floor.

"Efficiency of communication is held in higher regard here, I'm guessing."

 

"Most likely, yes."

 

"They weren't hostile, at least," Vexa shrugs, "It's business."


Leilia walks away with the dress, heading to her chambers to change.

 

"I suppose we are more technologically developed in many sectors. Perhaps their emphasis on emotion is related to their use of magic?"

 

"I take it then, that you use magic less here?"

 

"Not to us." Ruby mutters. "I don't know whose life we traded for 888, but it's definitely somebody."


Amethyst follows for a bit before stopping.
"Do you mind if I come? I mean, not in your quarters, of course."

"Idhaenna accounts for approximately 94.6% of the magic use in her domain, yes."

 

"I suppose we should look out for any murders then." Vexa says, slight worry in her voice.


"Not at all." Leilia smiles, glancing back at Amethyst.

 

"That may be a correlation, then, but one would have to do more research to speak the truth."

 

"Well.. doesn't really work in our situation."

 

"They don't appreciate me running studies over there, so it may simply be best such a task is left unfinished."

I guess it kinda makes sense, though. I mean, you're marrying Anne.

"Alternatively... four eyes and fangs? That's so unusual, that may have been a demon. If so, then no wonder she wanted something that could crush bone - it'd be used for torture."


Amethyst picks up her pace to keep up, finding that gliding is much less tiring after a while.

 

"Awfully strange."
I comment.

 

"In fairness, one reality is plenty enough for me to study. Changing trends and sudden anomalies keep things interesting." EBB comments, stopping near a half-ethereal wall.
"Well, through this tunnel is beta launch. Don't worry too much about becoming ethereal."

 

I stop with it.
"Why am I here, anyways?"

 

"Well...I suppose they have to get their weapons somewhere?" Vexa says, not certain about the morality of the situation.


Leilia soon arrives at her quarters, a pair of guards waiting outside them. She enters, closing the large doors behind her and leaving Amethyst with the guards, who smile at her.

 

Ruby shrugs.
"It's the flipside of the weapons business that bites most people. You learn to become numb to it."


Amethyst waits, seeming a bit excited.
"It's so hard to see what I'm doing with it in my room, I hope it turns out." She comments to the guards.

"Idhaenna has gotten into a bit of an argument with one of the mind controlled gods. She wants to outfit you to prove that nonmagic users are just as potent as magic users."

 

"Oh? Then, this ought to be enjoyable."
I grin.
