Variation 1 (James Blunders Queen Move 1):
1: bXd4 | cXd4
2: Qd6 | rXg2
3: Qe6+ | Kg7
4: Qe7+ | Kg6

6: Doesn't Really Matter | Qe2+ or Qg2+ (This is checkmate)
If Queen to g4 is what white does, just take the queen with the rook and now it's queen and rook (black) vs rook and rook (white)

Variation 2 (James Blunders Queen Move 2):
1: bXd4 | cXd4
2: Qg4 | rXf2+
3: Kg1 | rXg2+ (If Ke1 | Qe2+ Checkmate)
4: Doesn't Matter | Either Qe2+ or Rh2+ Checkmate

Variation 3 (James becomes an Idiot [Forced Checkmate]):
1: bXd4 | cXd4
2: rXd4 | QXb1+
3: KXe2 | Rc2+
4: Ke3 | Qc1+
5: Doesn't Matter | Qd2 or QXd2

Variation 4 (The Actual Best Move Recommended by the Engine)
1: bXd4 | cXd4
2: ra1 | QXb3
3: KXe2

This is the best variation for white. White has a full rook but black has three extra pawns (6 pawns against 3 pawns). Four of black's six pawns are passed pawns so it will be a fight but black would probably in the end make white sac a rook for two pawns and then it becomes clear that black was actually in the lead.

I didn't know our game master was a chess master as well.

Does this have anything to do with the prophecy or is just something that's cool to look at?
And I'm guessing James saw all this and didn't consider the problems with rook capturing instead. He just did it instantly, correct?

 

I'm nowhere near being a chess master.

James actually didn't consider Variation 4 either. It looks terrible for white... all your pieces are inactive and there are four hella good enemy pawns on the queen side. But the problem for black are the doubled pawns on the d file. And there is nothing stopping white from making a powerful battery on the e file.

James did not consider at all the rook variation. He just assumed it was better.

And I'm not gonna say anything about the prophecy question.

here are some chess variants you can challenge me in:

Normal:
Literally regular chess

Cyclone Chess:
Board is divided in four quadrants. If pieces want to move from one quadrant to another, they have to move to the next quadrant in a counter-clockwise fashion.

Crazyhouse:
Regular chess except any piece you capture goes into your "inventory" and you can place that piece on any open square on the board as your move instead of moving another piece on the board.

Three-Check:
Regular chess except if you check the enemy king three times, you win.

King of the Hill:
Regular chess except if you get your king to one of the four center squares, you win.

Yazu:

A fifth crow lands next to the fourth and they all tilt their heads at Yazu.

Fera:

The gun turns into a regular old rustic ish looking six-shooter.
