Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The cave walls seem to shift and change, before a large golem emerges from them. The blue ore seems to be in it's centre, and it appears to be protecting it. Shining gems form the golem's eyes, and it looks down on Vexa and Ruby.

 

Bardock looks confused at his sister.
"What's so funny?"

 

"So... overcharged mana feedback siphon or run like hell?" Ruby asks Vexa, staring at the blue ore.

"You fell in love with your freaking prey. That's so awkward."

 

"Oh. Yeah. That."

He awkwardly scratches the back of his head.

 

"Overcharged what?" Vexa asks, before jumping out the way of a large fist.

 

"Worth a shot anyways." Ruby sighs, firing a bolt of mana that aims to create a feedback loop against any shields or energy the golem has.

"If you ever come back here, I'm not letting you forget how awkward that is."

 

The golem seems unaffected, trying to crush Ruby this time.

 

Ruby opens a portal to an unknown dimension between her and the golem, trying to use its momentum against it.

 

The golem avoids the portal, though doesn't advance because of it. The ore shines smugly within it, however.

 

"Great..."

 

Ruby backs up a bit, then lunges through the back of a portal with a lance of her craft, shattering the portal and unstably overenergizing the lance as she charges near lightspeed into the golem.

"Oh, come on. Don't sweat it too much, love is love. Besides, I'm your sister, siblings are supposed to give each other a hard time."

 

"If you say so, sis."

 

The golem explodes, sending shards and chunk of itself flying everywhere. Luckily, the Orichalcum seems a little more resillient, remaining whole.

 

Ruby exerts the rest of the energy from the lance attempting to shield herself and Vexa, pushed back slightly by the blast.

"Hey, you were out in the wild while your brothers gave me grief every other day. It was just the family dynamic."

 

"I kinda get what you mean. There are fights every now and then in our pack too."

 

"Between alpha and pack members or just siblings in the pack?"

 

"Both. There are fights to show power, but pups just play with each other."

 

The onslaught of rubble soon subsides. However, when the dust clears, Vexa seems to be lying on the ground; unmoving.

 

Ruby checks her vitals, concerned.

“Aww, you get to see the pups grow up? Are they anything like puppies?”

 

She's still alive, luckily. She appears to have just been knocked out by a sizeable chunk of iron; any human would've been killed or sustained major brain damage.
