Assassin/Ninja Help Why Do People Not Use The Specialist?

I mean it has high as hell spell damage, why don’t people use it.

 

because it has no base damage lmao
you have to put powders on it to get any damage at all, but then the amount of damage thats getting multiplied is actually very little so like yea its not good xd

People do actually use the Specialist. It's just used in Cancer Taurus only. It's pretty decent after the buff for spells iirc, but it doesn't match other options in spells, so yeah.

 

Specialist is only gud if u get gud ids, such as 1500% + fire dmg, or 1600% + water dmg.
Specialist can do a lot of dmg element wise, but its rlly hard to get a good specialist.

 

Speaking of Specialist...

 

It has good damage on its own, but it's pretty much impossible to improve on it (with the aforementioned Necrosis + Taurus being an exception) because of its low base damage, resulting in it having poor damage when put in the context of a build. The problem is really not the rolls.

 

as many have stated, specialist has like 4.5k ish base spins with t6 powders, and it's REALLY had to improve upon that.

aside from necrosis taurus, the only other really viable way to use specialist that i know of is so that you can deal damage in other elements without any specific building in that element (for example, in a black build, you can water damage etc)

 

The high elemental percent boosts on low base damage is a boon and a curse - further percent boosts yield very little, but as by2011 notes, negative percents don't take away that much, which is why it's viable with Necrosis' high debuffs to spell and melee damage.

I think Specialist isn’t specifically good, but it’s an interesting item. It requires a really specialized build to work well, but when you do have a good build for it, it can be really fun to use.
