SPOILER 1.18 Discussion Thread

So we got the teaser, and we've had three hints from Salted so far, each containing one less emerald in the background than the last. If this is truly a countdown, then we still have a few more teasers from Salted before the update comes out, as it has been a few weeks and we still haven't gotten any other teasers (from Salted). Now whether it is a countdown or not, we just got a VIDEO teaser (which from past experiences is quite big as this means the update is almost ready and is being showcased to the public). While this is all a lot to take in, I have made a reasonable prediction of when the 1.18 update will be released. I would give it at LEAST a week or two, (probably definitely before the end of October). It may come with Halloween (something I've considered). But with all of this information, when do you guys think this update will release? (I need hope because this hype is overwhelming and the unknown is annoying).

Probably Halloween. It takes about a week for them to test stuff for Beta anyway, and it could easily take another week for a teaser to come up again.

 

I wouldn't trust any speculations. Remember when people were saying we were getting an August update with 100% certainty? I would say at least before Christmas though.

 

The year is 20xx, everyone is still waiting for 1.18. @YYGAYMER has achieved a bank full of legendary medallions, but the update still has not arrived.

 

I'm going to predict late November. They still have to release the final teasers, the changelog(s) and a beta test. Two-three weeks would not be enough time for that. Six weeks would most likely be.

 

if we getting a hallowynn upupdate they prob drop it on with 1.18 cuz otherwise they have to drop 2 updates maby 2 weeks apart. but if they do that. what wil the name of the update be. and idj whats im saying hype is taking over my brain but lrts all say beta in 2/3 weeks

 

Usually every two years they add a "Hallowynn" quest. I definitely think there will be a lobby change for a spooky season and a quest.

 

You can predict da future. I knew it.

 

What if it comes out in 1 week just to make almost everyone on that poll wrong?

 

Since everyone has posted their jokes before I could, I'll post a serious answer:

- I don't think this will be a halloween update. Major updates generally don't include a holiday quest, unless the whole update has an underlying holiday theme like that 2014 Wynnter update. Right now there's nothing Halloween-y about these new teasers. Also I think 3 Halloween quests is kind of overkill.
- Personally, I'd expect a changelog or changeblogs to be posted at the end of October or early November. Then there will be a beta, which will go on for 2-3 weeks, possibly more. I'd say the update will release in late November.

 

I'd say we get the changelog before the end of October. Then the update comes out early-mid November. The time between the changelog and release of 1.17 was 12 days.

The only thing that I would say I'm pretty sure of, is that we'll be getting an update this year. I feel like everyone would be super-pissed if they we didn't get an update this year. Plus by the looks of it, it should be ready in time.
My estimate is that we'll get the last teasers this month, then a changelog at the start of November, followed by a couple of weeks of Beta, then the update around November/December
