Anything about a secret room?

 

Well, yes, since it was mentioned in that book. (I forgot that)
There's supposedly a secret room hidden somewhere in the corridor.

 

"I think I should ask where you've looked"

 

Larath: "Well, I felt all around the gateway, inside that hole. Also checked around the gargoyles and thought I found something but it was probably meant to be there.
I also looked closely inside all the cases, but I found nothing interesting, except if there's something behind the painting."

 

"Why don't we check if there is something behind it?"

 

Larath: "We can't just break the case!"

 

"Let's just pick it up and place it somewhere else"

 

The cases are set into the walls, it's not as much of a case as just an alcove with a class pane.

 

Mate I don't want to ruin your dreams but I don't think this puzzle should be solved.

 

"There's one way to find out" I'll snap my fingers and try to summon Lewis behind the painting if there is a place to summon him

Explain why?

A familiar can be summoned in an unoccupied space you can see I believe.

Right. Lewis appears inside the case, but not behind the painting.

 

I go to his vision and see if there is anything out of ordinary

 

I suspect there is a portal with slaad behind that door.

Slaadi are monsters.
