Would it be inssight to figure out what je's thinkig from his gaze?

 

"Well then, where will you take me first?"

Larath: "Let's go to the Corridor of Relics! It's underneath the government building."

 

"Oh I read a book about it, apparently there's a secret chamber there"

 

Larath: "I know! I've been there many times but haven't found it. Do you want to try?"

 

"Maybe we should take the book with us then?"

 

Larath: "It only tells us there is a secret room there, but sure."
She runs back and gets the book. I assume you go to the government building?

 

"You never know, maybe it has sime secrets of its own"

After going down the stairs in the building, you enter into a corridor filled with old artefacts in glass cases set into the walls. There are three old stone gargoyles; one behind the stairs, and one on either side. There’s an old map of the mines; a throbbing red gemstone; an old, cracked stone hammer; a couple of green dragon scales; a green dragon scale breastplate; a stone chalice carved with draconic; and an old painting of a green dragon flying over a fort-town, probably this one. There's an old device to measure time (stick on a circular piece of stone y'know); a rusted iron crown; what looks like a black wolf rug; a stone wand; a folded scroll of yellowed paper. At the end of the corridor is a gateway of stone carved with draconic symbols.

You can't really tell.
It's an exclamation of excitement. Not that loud.

In order (left side, lowest - right side, lowest: Open, release, chaos, devour, grow

 

I tap each symbol and tell Larath what they mean

 

Larath: "Interesting... "
She pulls up a notebook and scribble something down, looking closely at each symbol.
Larath: "Open, release and chaos would suggest it's a portal to a Chaos Plane, but if it were opened, the chaos would leak out. Devour and grow would mean the plane devours... something, and grows."

 

"Ominous. Hey can you give me the book about this place?"

 

Larath: "Of course!"
She hands you the book.

 

I read what it says about the chamber of relics

 

It says that it contains a lot of old relics, some sacred, others memories. It also contains a mysterious gateway to an unidentified plane of chaos. Apparently, a key is required to activate it, but the key wasn't found with the gateway in the mines. There's a circular hole about 1 cm deep on the lower part of the gate, many suggest that the key is a circular disk that fits in the hole.
