Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Katie heads through the portal to Maralune, looking around.

 

"So, your dragon friend you usually meet here in the dream plane is someone's pet?"

There's only two raptors sitting around, the bubble of respite visible through the ruin on the other side of the forest.
Katie feels a bit sick just being within the ruin, though it doesn't seem to affect her otherwise.

 

Katie avoids eye contact with the raptors, looking for a source of water.

 

There's what looks to be a mostly dried up puddle nearby, though the water is just as tainted as the air.

 

Katie decides to avoid it, deciding to head toward the respite.

 

As she walks through the (equally tainted) forest between her and the respite, she notices that the vine structure where the Matriarch usually lived has been torn down.

 

Katie decides to investigate, looking for what could have caused it.

 

There are a few mantis guards stationed around several trees nearby, but none of them seem to care about Katie's presence. Asking them would be a start, but there's so few traces left of the structure that it would either have been burnt down or simply deconstructed intentionally.
She shouldn't take too long investigating, though. The ruin is starting to make her feel slightly nauseous.

 

Katie decides to change her path back to the respite, not wanting to throw up.

 

Once she enters the respite, the effects of the ruin start to ease rapidly. The nausea and slight weariness is gone within a few minutes.

 

"Yes."
He nods.

 

Katie looks around for some fresh water, hoping the quality in the respite will be better.

 

There is a stream that acts as a moat. It's fairly filled with rubble from the broken wall, but all the fine debris has since settled to the bottom and the water is crystal clear.
There's also a bit of a pool a short ways down, but raptors seem to use it as a watering hole.

"Do you at least plan to meet Sgavrinn's owner?"

 

Katie tastes some of the water; lifting it up from the moat in a bubble.

 

"Eventually. After the wedding."

 

It tastes like cold spring water, albeit with the occasional nearly-invisible speck of dirt.

"Did you consider inviting them to your wedding? Then Sgavrinn'd be there too."

 

"I have not thought about it. But I doubt they have time."

 

"You never know. If they had time to tame a dragon, they probably have free time."

 

"They might need him for stuff, so their would be time reserved to tame him."

 

Katie dives in, enjoying the water. Parts of the surface freeze to ice as she lays back and relaxes.
