Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The girl is suddenly very intimidated by the wyrm, deciding to back away as slowly and quietly as she can.

 

"I think?"

 

It doesn’t move at all... it doesn’t even look like it’s still breathing.

“Two in the cave, the wyvern mage, and the one that carried you... right?”

 

The girl still avoids it, quietly continuing her walk around the palace perimeter.

 

As she walks, she notices a winged serpent watching her from the roof of the palace.

 

The girl tries to keep herself calm as she keeps walking, hoping the serpent is friendly. The girl strangely seems to leave a cold air in her wake.

 

The serpent eventually slinks down towards her.
“Outsssider, what bringsss you here?”

 

"Wyvern mage? You mean Rema? You know Rema, right?"

 

The serpent doesn't receive an answer, the girl freezing into ice again with a squeal.

 

The serpent shakes its head, approaching the ice and examining the frozen girl.

“No, Rema is a wyrm. I mean the blue wyvern she works with... and yes, I know Rema.”

 

Frozen bubbles seem to be covering her face, though her black hood seems to be pulled over in an attempt to hide it anyway. Her legs are covered by jeans, yet her feet remain bare. Strangely, despite looking like a human, she doesn't appear to be suffering any form of frostbite while inside the extremely cold ice; she looks healthy even.

 

“A guardian...? Missss, if you can hear me, I did not intend to ssstartle you.”

 

The girl remains frozen in the ice nonetheless, still terrified.

 

The serpent retreats, bowing to her before attempting to make a heart shape with its body.

 

The ice melts after a while, the girl taking a moment to catch her breath; somewhat in a state of shock.

 

“I’m sssorry for ssstartling you.” It repeats, keeping some distance.

 

The girl jumps, ice forming at her feet as she takes a step back.

 

"I'm not sure if he worked with her."

 

"I am Mavisss, caretaker of thossse who do not devour. I promissse, you have nothing to fear."

"Was she the one that brought us to the Ziz?" He mutters.
