"Hell yeah, I did. Multiple."

 

She releases a vicious pulse of nullmagic without bothering to turn back.

“Multiple? Please, do tell me more.”

 

"There's Sgavrinn and Rema ofcourse. Then there are Gram and Siln. And the dragoness on the other island, whose name I forgot."

 

“The other island? Is there more than just the one enchanted isle, or do you mean the mainland?”

 

Anyone looking would see a faerie appear, before quickly flying into the shadows and blending in with them.

 

"The mainland. But on the other side then where we lived."

 

"So, you went into the mountains, found dragons, and didn't get eaten? Your luck is insane!"

A bit of residual nullmagic makes blending back into the shadows harder than usual, but nobody seems to notice the fae.

 

"You can say that. Not all dragons are savages."

 

The faerie continues to follow Ruby, undeterred.

 

As they follow Ruby, it gets harder for them to move their wings.

"All of them up there sure are. They're all either hungry, territorial, or both."

 

"The dragoness was nice. She was protective of her children, but that's normal."

 

They press on nonetheless, mustering their strength.

 

After the fae finds themselves completely unable to fly, Ruby turns around and lifts them telekinetically.
"What do you want?"

"You... has anyone ever told you not to encroach a dragon's territory while they're raising their young? It's practically suicide! You had to know her from somewhere else."

 

The faerie seems rather intimidated, lost for words as they look like they're ready to faint.

 

They don't seem to be able to faint or lose consciousness, Ruby making sure she holds their attention.
"Come on, speak. You have a mouth."

 

The faerie tries to open their mouth to speak, but nothing comes out bar a short whimper.

 

Ruby just waits, taking a meditative position.

 

The faerie tries to break free and get away, terrified.

 

"Relax. One of her friends brought us there. They knew we were coming."

 

She can’t - Ruby’s grip is unshakable.
“You were following me for a reason. I’m not playing twenty questions to find out why, and you’re not going away until I know. I hate mind reading, but feel free to give me permission if you’re not the speaking type.”
