Recently my brother dropped my fern(a hammer) which was my best weapon and I would like to know if there is a way to get items you lost through not your fault back

10 Emeralds is not what people tend to pay for a legendary or good rare, most of the time people will trade for EB (Emerald Blocks. 1 EB = 64 E)

Regardless, for your level it is not worth buying legendaries or rares, just use the stuff you find and in around 5 levels, you will already have a new weapon that is better than your current one.
