Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"If they didn't turn to dust, you're fine."

Sgavrinn winds up dozing off while waiting for Artemis to stir.

 

"I don't remember. But she was panicked when she realised she was dead."

 

"Oh, that should be fine. People panic about that all the time. Usually happens more than once."

 

Sgavrinn is soon awoken to a soft stroking, a hand gently running across the top of his head.

 

"It bugs me. People are alive when they come here and then they realise they've died because they stayed too long."

 

He shifts around a bit before yawning and looking up.

"Yeah... staying too long has issues."

 

"Yeah. That's one of the reason why I worry about staying here for too long."

 

Artemis smiles at Sgavrinn, though her eyes reflect tiredness.

 

"You only need to worry if you spend more than a day here. Time passes pretty much at the same rate here as it does out there, but your body doesn't need too much while asleep. You might wake up from pain after a couple days, but usually it takes four days in here to die."

"Did your friend make it out okay too?" He asks, resting his head back down on the couch.

 

"My friend?" Artemis asks, sounding a little puzzled.

 

"Gotcha. Just warn me if I spent more than a day here. Or maybe half a day."

 

“The darkness person.”

“Well, I don’t know when you got here, but you should be good so far.”

 

"Aj?" Artemis asks, though she seems to become sadder after asking.

 

“Yeah, did he get out too?”

 

Artemis nods.

 

"Eh, since we don't know for now, let's just wait half a day and then I leave. But after that it's just after every half a day."

 

“Is he not recovering?” Sgavrinn asks, seeming concerned but confused.

“You... do realize that you will have then slept twelve hours, right?”

 

"I know. During winter time it's normal. It's darker for a longer period if time, so I sleep more."

 

Artemis shakes her head.

"We were infected with a virus. While they were able to cure me, his version is radically different. It's different for every person, and every time they get it. Normally I'd be immune to viruses and illnesses, but this one is different." Artemis explains, sighing.

 

"So... is he getting worse?"

"I don't know what season it is wherever you are. We... don't really have seasons in the subsurface."
