So yeah, over 16 countries (e.g Ireland, UK, Spain, Portugal, America ect.) signed an agreement to regulate/erase loot boxes in video games. Now on the surface of things, this doesn't seem like a huge blow towards EA and other publishers, but bare in mind that EA get 65% of their income from loot boxes ,top it all off with the recent events regarding BFV, BFII, and their terrible E3 presentation, its seems as though karma has hit EA like a bus. Now this probably won't impact EA immediately but it will cause some long term damage for the company in the long run.

Now this gives me "a sense of pride and accomplishment"

Playing the devil’s advocate here, but I feel like this could backfire horribly if the higher-ups decide to just lower wages for everyone else, or lay people off, resulting in even lower quality games. The other alternative is that they start monetizing OTHER parts of the game in order to keep revenue.
In addition, WE get part of our revenue from the crates, which are basically loot boxes. If this changes the Minecraft EULA, this could hit Wynncraft pretty hard too

Pretty sure that law only counts toward non-cosmetic purchases

And on the contrary to what you said, I think this could finally open developer’s tunnel vision away from just lootboxes to all the other, better or worse ways of monetizing games.

Well yes you do have a point there, but remember that Anthem and BFV will be monotising cosmetics, so its already a reality.

As for Wynn, I can agree that it would not be in a good place if it does affect the EULA, but there are also solutions to it similar to how EA is handling their micro-transactions. Npt to mention it won't be entirely in trouble, with bombs and such being bought and used quite frequently.

Never thought they would actually go through with this.
