Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"So, what could I show you next..." She mumbles, looking around.

 

"I am still interested in your nanotech." Eve reminds.

 

"I know that. What did you think I planned to show you next, my nonexistent cat?" She grumbles, eyes eventually settling on a table.
"Okay, over here I guess." She says, walking off.

 

Eve remains emotionless, following obediently and recording her surroundings.

 

Her surroundings seem rather plain, though (much) closer inspection reveals nanobots practically swarming everybody inside.

"Okay, this is a set of test bots meant to maintain primitive wiring. We haven't done a lot of working backwards, but plain copper wire seems to be an extremely popular starting point for tinkerers, and these will hopefully reduce the number of... malfunctions... they experience when trying to demonstrate their creations."

 

"I don't know. I can't yell you."

 

"How do they create the wiring?" Eve asks.

 

"Fabrication or warping it in through a small stock made for the nanobot, then sometimes the same deal with a flexible insulator to stop shorts."

"Were you not there for it?"

 

"What method do they use to fabricate?" Eve asks.

 

"I don't remember me being there. I've spent most of my time in the woods and away from home, so I had no idea when it happened."

 

"Fusion and fission."

"You lived in the forest?"

 

"Yeah, I did. Is that so weird?"

 

"Interesting." Eve says, making note.

 

"I don't know why you would, we were all city folk at some point."

"I assume you would mostly do it by conjuration?"

 

"I ran away. I got lost in the forest, injured, and wasn't able to get back home on my own."

 

Eve nods.

 

"And how would you do it in a nullmagic field?"

"So that's why... You gave your brothers a good scare until I showed up dead."

 

"I'm sorry, I do not have the permission to relay such information to you without proper authorisation." Eve says, sounding a little more robotic.

 

The scientist rolls her eyes.
"Of course, paranoid war-beings would never tell others just how paranoid they are. Anyhow, the bots also have internal generators and trace amounts of stored kinetic energy to function in zero-power environments."

 

Eve nods, taking note but not saying anything else.
