So iced over canal with river banks that are quite a bit higher then the river, and 1/2m of snow fits into this where?

Wait the banks are higher then the river? Also the snow is probably on the land but it'd also be on the frozen river... Although I'm guessing that it should be shallower then 1/2m at the edges as some would fall down.

The snow isn't as deep on the river.
Note though that the rives isn't fully iced over.
