Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Thanks.” She says, waving once as she leaves and does her best to leave the forest.

“Is he hurt?”

 

The forest seems a lot larger than it originally seemed, Fable spending hours walking through a seemingly endless amount of trees before eventually finding a way out into a dark field.

 

She looks back to the forest before going out into the field and sitting down.

 

"He lost a wing, so it's bad. Do you maybe know where he might be getting treatment?"

 

"I don't even know where he is. Do you know if he's at least recovering?"

 

The field is quiet, a cool breeze waving the grass as an owl flies overhead. The darkness feels thick, only penetrated by a dim moonlight.

 

"Hang on."

I go back to the mayor's room and knock on the door.
"Mayor?!"

 

He turns.
"Yes?"

Fable just idles for the rest of the night.


The weapon reappears in front of Shadow Stephanie.
"Do you have the four?"


Iris shows up at the shadow palace gates.
"Hey, before you get any ideas, has your king gotten his ass out of recovery yet? I got a bit of info Emerald doesn't that he might want."

 

Shadow Stephanie turns to face the weapon, before she seems to melt and disappear. The whole area begins to change, a ruined wasteland appearing around the weapon, sky red and ground grey and bloodstained. A skeleton with a broken skull lies against the shell of a home nearby, bones rotting.


"He is still in recovery, nobody is able to see him." One of the guards says, stoic.

 

"You said my friend got hurt badly and I forgot to ask, but do you know where he is for treatment?"

 

"The answer is no... I tried to warn you. I gave you much more time than I should have."


"Cute. Well, once you decide to open your mouth and your ears, I'll consider helping you uproot the worm that's wriggled into your system." She shrugs, leaving.

"Again, he's in the Void. If you're trying to get there, look for someone who might know something about other realms."

 

"Any tips as to where to look?"

 

The weapons' words echo out across the landscape, going mostly unheard.


The guard appears in front of Iris.

"What worm in our system?" He asks, serious, sword held to her neck.

 

It shrugs, vanishing.

In its place, a key appears.


Iris smiles, giggling playfully.
"Nah, you don't get to have the cake and eat it too. Besides, you aren't the king. The only thing of mine that'd be talking to you is my weapon."

"Anyone who practices dark magic should be attuned to the Void to some degree."

 

The key is picked up by an external force and examined.


"Is that a threat?" The guard asks, pressing his sword against Iris' neck.

"Men, code M1C. Get everyone checked." The other guard calls, a few guards along the walls jumping down to enter the palace.

 

It seems to be made of an alloy fused with bones, the key a pure white with a small engraving.
"Lock the door
Seal the beast
Blind that sees
Deaf that speaks"


It just phases through.
Iris laughs.
"You actually think a lowly mortal such as yourself, a mere piece of Lady Tenebrae, could stop me? Well... I'm not here to find out. I figure I'd offer a charitable tip, but it seems you'd rather fall to the old stereotype of kill first and ask later... so, let your king know that thanks to you, there'll be a price for this info in the future."

 

The key is stored away in a sealed pocket dimension, disregarded.


The guard, enraged, attempts to behead Iris.

 

The pocket dimension soon becomes null, its owner losing connection and entirely forgetting they made the pocket dimension in the first place, or anything inside of it.


His blade disintegrates into absolute nothingness, and she just winks at him before vanishing.

 

A strong magic attempts to hold the dimension together, before simply letting it go.


The guard punches the air were Iris once was, annoyed.

 

The magic is sapped with the dimension.


Iris seems to just have cloaked, chomping hard on his hand before grinning and blinking away.
