To be fair the sole purpose of any business is to make money. Not that it’s inherently bad, just that EA is less customer friendly.

 

To be fair you need a very high IQ to play EA games...

 

To be more fair, that Rick and Morty meme is as dead as the hope of EA not putting in micro transactions.

 

I was alluding to the fact that EA giving their fans the finger and called them uneducated and telling not to buy their game. Either way, I got a good chuckle after seeing how terrible their pre-orders are.

 

Oh, sorry, my bad. I haven’t been following EA since after the lastest stars wars battlefront came out.

 

Lemme summarize everything they said that "those who think that cyborg women on the frontlines and katana wielding british soldiers in World War 2 didn't happen" are apparently uneducated because they don't believe such a scenario could happen. They also told consumers that if they don't like it, they don't have to buy it and the consumers did as they were told with Battlefield V now having 85% less preorders than Call of Duty BO4. Btw this entire statement was said by Patrick "Buy red dead redemption2" Soderlund. Also it is believed BFV will also suffer the same faith as Titanfall2 where EA decided it would be a good idea to sandwich BFV release between RDR2 and CODBO4 releases. Not to mention with the lastest Battlefront 2 controversy its no secret whose next on EA's copping block, hint hint, its DICE.

 

Oof, that’s not something you want to say if you’re trying to SELL your product....

 

Oddly enough, the timing between Patrick Soderlund's statement and his departure from EA is a bit hilarious to say the least.

Well lets think. If a higher up at EA, tells your fans during an interview not to buy your game, what would you as CEO?

Oh, I thought you meant it was also for a different reason. EA as a whole is just kinda fucked. Every time I hear them mentioned, it’s always about something bad they did, from rushing Mass Effect 3, to releasing Sims games with less content than its predecessors, to micro transactions...

 

EA is an embarrassment to gaming. What you've mentioned is prob the minor stuff they've done. Mass Effect 3 while rushed was playable unlike Mass Effect Andromeda which was an absolute cluster fuck of bugs, short story and hilariously terrible body and facial movements not to mention the collectors edition they sold that didn't have the game. Then there was Battlefront, another rushed title with little to no maps and a 50 euro premium pass.

Now EA are creeping into the mobile market and its turning out GREAT! Dungeon Keeper, a beloved game franchise was subjected to the mobile game market torture and was turned into an extreme pay to win game. An example would be it would take between 5 to 24 hours to removed 1 tile to expand your little base thingy unless you bought their premium currency to skip said process. Command and Conquer has also been subjected to this. Then EA tells use we should begin to respect the mobile market when they themselves... didn't?...

The sad thing is, EA gets away with it. Sure tons of players don't buy their games, but no matter what I can guarantee that if Battefield V does flop incredibly, it won't even dent EA, they'll keep moving on with their pay to win loot boxes or ultimate team no matter how hard we try.

 

I mean there has to be a point though. The game market is especially oversatured right now, so there's plenty of alternatives for players to turn to. Perhaps one day another company will swoop EA under its feet.

 

They also ruined old Popcap games by releasing PvZ 2 and Peggle Blast, which both have a lot of in-app purchases

 

I don't hate EA as much as other people do, but I'll never forgive them for PvZ 2. The first one was perfect and I was so excited when I heard a second one would be released. When I downloaded it I found it to be extremely difficult, and I felt like you pretty much needed to buy stuff for an advantage. I watched my friend play it a few months ago, and it was filled with Progressive Insurance advertisements.

 

UPDATE: Battlefield V has just been delayed due to the horrendous pre-orders anddd EA's shares plummet by 10%.

Aren't we forgetting that EA tried to integrate PVZ into the fps market with PvZ GW1 & 2 and while fun, they both fall to same faith as Battlefront 2, that is their gameplay and progression are extremely pay to win and the game was designed around this basis of "card packs" just as BF2 was, but unlike BF2, EA got away with this, silently killing the PvZ franchise. PvZ2 also suffered the same faith as Dungeon Keeper, where in order to progress faster, you'd have to buy your way through the levels to make them easier as well as buying stronger plants.

Now that EA's shares are finally beginning to plummeting and while 10% probably won't do long term damage it does have a domino effect and if such event does happen, EA will finally give themselves a dose of reality check. Right now EA is still trying to fight a losing battle, and it will only end badly.

 

I actually liked PvZ 2 for a while; it actually felt challenging compared to the original, and was a lot more chaotic than the original game.

Then I found BTD and now that fills the void of my desire for tower defense.
