Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I went to a church, sat in a flower, and... well, that's sort of it. I don't know the next step." Fable shrugs.

 

"Well, I'd say that's all you need to do." The voice says happily.

 

"Oh?"
Pause.
"Wait, I'm talking to Gaia right now, aren't I?"

 

The voice laughs.

"You certainly are, child." Gaia says happily.

 

"I, uh... how do I do this... do I introduce myself first? If I do that, you might leave, though..." Fable mutters, thinking things through fairly poorly... and out loud.

 

"Why would I leave?" Gaia asks.

 

"Okay then, I'll start there. My name is Fable, and I'm a godslaying weapon from the other reality. We were built to stop the gods if they got out of control, but I never found anyone I trusted to... well, protect them. I figure that if we're there to stop them from going crazy, we could protect them while they're not. So, uh... I'm the aspect slayer of life. And I'm hoping you don't just seal me again, that gets really boring really fast." She rambles.

 

"Are your kin the same as you? I have no reason to seal you away." Gaia says positively.

 

"Unfortunately, not all. I've heard that two of my siblings have already... made a scene in front of your god of death. There's not all that many that are like that, though... maybe three or four out of the eighteen of us."

 

"Mortius..." Gaia mutters to herself, "Well, I'm glad you're not like them. I can tell you have a good heart."

 

"I... don't have organs, but it's nice to know that spending a few planetary life cycles trying to emulate emotions wasn't a waste of time." Fable says, content.

 

"So, you're looking for someone to use you correctly?" Gaia asks happily.

 

"I was hoping you could present me to one of, if not your most devoted child; yes. I figure being in the hands... well, on the hands of one who would protect you above all else would be a way for me to be able to see your domain without continuing to damage it and not have to sit on some barren rock or be sealed away to not worry about being in bad hands."

 

"My most devoted child? Well...I'm not sure who that would be..." Gaia contemplates, even considering other gods.

 

"You saw him in the real world? Have you met him and his owner then?"

 

"If you were able to change size to that of a mortal, I could also simply entrust myself to you directly. Wait, that'd be a hassle for you..." Fable says, trying to help.

"Owner, no. Him, yes."

 

"That's possible." Gaia considers, thinking.

 

"At any rate, I feel extremely fortunate to be able to contact you... one of my siblings had told me that you and the other gods here are typically far more reclusive than those in my home reality."

 

"Generally, yes. We try to keep our interactions with mortals limited. Too much interference can disrupt the careful balance of things." Gaia says.

 

"I understand me being here might disrupt that even more than the bridge between realities has... but I'm used to being a nuisance. I'd rather be blamed for being somewhere I shouldn't than being with someone I shouldn't be."
