Armor points are the amount of damage you will ignore when you take damage (unless the attacks have pircing, in which case the armor gets ignored).

The armor points are also the health of your armor, so the more damage your armor absorbs the more damaged it becomes.

Armors have % of how much damage they can absorb; it mostly depends on what material they're made out of.


So if you have 20 [HP] and are wearing Basic Leather Armor 10 [AP] (Armor points) and it has (DB) (Damage absorbtion) of 20%, if you were hit for 10 (dmg), you would loose...

8 [HP] and 2 [AP]. While certainly not very useful at such a low % it is quite helpful at higher %.

Can I put all my points into explosion magic so powerful it leaves me limp after using it that I have to wait a day to use it again?

 

I might implement destruction magic, which when you master it, it lets you summon beams of energy that explode anything that comes into contact with them

 

That sounds very balanced and not op at all

 

well you can't excatly learn it from a scroll or even a book. some schools of magic are so hard to learn (mostly becouse they're banned) that nobody bothers to learn or teach for that matter.
