Serious Sexism In Video Games.

A kid who claimed to be 12 started to say some things to girl Fortnite streamer Pokimane, saying how he f*ps to her, and that his b**l hairs are sweating. He was being a pervert on stream and Pokimane was really uncomfortable the whole game. He eventually started being racist about TSM_Myth, another popular Fortnite streamer, because Poki and Myth used to have a “thing” going.

Multiple other YouTubers have spoken out about this since then talking about sexism in this game.

This is NOT okay. Being a 14 year old male, I know the 11-14 age bracket is really weird, however, what this kid did was horrible in every way. His parents should severely punish him.

The anonymity of the internet has caused us to be able to say this shit anywhere we want. I see it in games like CSGO all the time, and if you play CoD you’ve probably seen it too. Girls om the internet get hated on for no reason or are told very perverted things. I know lots of you here on the forum are girls, and I’d like to say I’m sorry if you have to deal with shits like this kid.

Same can sorta go for guys.

While I'm not saying girls aren't being told perverted things, this is also the internet and while yes there are some really preverted guys out there, guys get some if not more hate than girls do. In games like CoD and Fortnite, players will insult eachother whether it be through stress or other reasons, they will blurt out insults to whomever, even if they are sexist or racist remarks. Its just how the internet works, not to mention people just want a reaction from others and if those kinds of people are in your lobby, just mute them. Its a quick and easy solution and rather useful unlike Bullyhunters.

As for Youtubers talking about this situation, I think they're overreacting, since this is a 12 year old kid. 12 year olds say a lot of shit to make themselves sound like they have a bigger dick than they actually do, its just stupid that people are blowing this out of proportion. Like a 12 year old say some mean stuff, ooohh, what a big man he is, its like ranting on a kid throwing a tantrum in a shop, kids are kids and kids will do stupid shit.

TL;DR It isn't really sexism its just a 12 year old who thinks hes cool. Just take no notice of him.

Although some level of that kind of activity is normal at that age, what the kid is doing is just not okay.

I think it’s the fact that he was being a pervert. I have seen lots of girl gamers in Fortnite matches and lots of kids in those same games, who actually try to work with them and don’t act desperate and like a pervert.

I knew about it at 9, sadly. One of my friends was... very interested in it and wanted to share it with all his 5th Grade friends.

In the kids defense, many people donate that kind of stuff to Pokimane saying that kind of shit. Still what he did was wrong and in all honesty his parents should watch him while he's online because just saying that stuff, may not have an affect in the short span of things, but in the long run, it can ruin his and other people's career.

Also:

He's still a kid, and he probably doesn't fully understand what he's saying and the impact it has on Pokimane.

The reality is that it’s just internet culture. He didn’t say it because at heart he’s a pervert or his parents “failed” at raising him, he said it because other people he knew have said similar things and he’s saying it to someone who he knows is used to it/can’t really do anything about it. Plus, he’s playing a game where he could just chill and be as goofy as he wants. If he truly was a troubled kid, then he’d be saying it in all situations (like a teacher in a classroom) but here it’s nothing more than internet culture.

Either you learn to just ignore it or find the humor in it and take part.

 

You haven't seen any of Pokimane's streams, they say a lot of really sexual pleasure stuff, which I won't mention here cause I don't wanna get banned.
