Effective use of boats, part 2, or:
Crossing the great bridge with a boat

So, where to start? After the success of my last boat thread, I just HAD to do a sequel. I had many thoughts about sequels. One was Troms to Josafh, another Josafh to squid village, another squid village to Josafh, but I ultimately stopped working on those projects. (Due to issues with gaps, lack of gaps and too many downwards gaps)
But a new project came from the ashes, and this is that new project. Welcome to "crossing the great bridge with a boat".

My first attempt was solo.

It didn't go so well...

I'm not positive this can be soloed, even with skill pots, high agility and warrior's base defence + war scream.

But, then a plan was invented.
I consulted the spot in the previous thread where it said "The solution? Bribe a low-level player!"

Escorting isn't against the rules. If you remember, the rules of the chalenge/proof of concept were
1. Start somewhere withing the start and end up somewhere within the end
2. Only dismount cause of bugs and needing to pick up your sunken boat

Or something like that.
Anyways, after changing the "low" to "high", I was able to buy the services of dobledrac's rainbow warrior.
(The price was 50 eb and a T4 thunder. A small price to be able to further the field of boatology.)

For extra chalenge (And/or because I was confused for a bit) I also did a small loop in the ring part.
But, in the end, we made it.

"BUT BLUSCENY! THIS IS USELESS! JUST RUN IT!"
Actually, there IS a reason to do this on a boat (aside from the obious like farming)
THE BOAT HITBOX.
The boat has a large hitbox. So large, that, in fact, some of the projectiles fired by the shrines are blocked by the boat.

This gave me an idea.
A boat colony...
A bunch of people with boats team up to make a platform that people can stand on!

Olay, here’s me debunking a few of your suggestions so you can stop. The. Spam.

Ofc impossible, boats only go down/straight

Not only is it inpossible to get to anywhere needed for the quest with a boat, you cannot fight on a boat.

From Ragni, I can get to the sea NP. But I cannot get to land from sea, and thus cannot get to Rodoroc.

It’s impossible to go further than a few hundred blocks from Troms in a boat, as there are places a boat cannot climb.

This... might be possible. Mayble. Not sure. Mayble with /kill abuse? I have no idea. I think not, but maassyble.

Cannot climb the big ”staircase”.


I hope this makes you better understand what makes boats so limited in being superior to everything in every way.
