Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

End of day 3 has been reached for one character out of... seven
(ok six azura ded)

You predictably end up in that dreamspace grass field again, which is convenient in the way that I don't need to write "you are sleeping" over and over for the next few weeks.
No cat, but you can hear someone behind you.

"Fun fact: most of the world frowns on murdering someone for no reason, although nobody's gonna hound me for going after you."

I was less intending that to be an ability and more shady voice = shady person being obvious but I'll roll with it too.

"I summoned you because nobody does anything important in this city without me knowing hours in advance."

His sentence is ended by what sounds like the roar of a faraway explosion.

"A wand on the fritz just destroyed a magic academy home to a rampaging elemental. It was sent there because nobody important comes to this city and some mage thought it would be safe. The explosion was ultimately caused by a rogue element that'll be dead within the week. Every person I just described is an idiot, and we're here to kill somebody."

Somebody screams in the distance.

"There's a mercenary band in the building that's sticking its nose where it doesn't belong. They're not the target, but they die too."

Some injured looking lady's talking with several other guests, and all of them certainly look like one group.

"I've been told you're an aspiring necromancer. Your job is to inspire panic with showy dark arts. Make them think you're the threat while the assassins get to work."

As he says that, the eyes of several normal-looking partygoers stare directly at you, than at some important-looking guy on top of the stairs talking to... a tiefling? Yeah, looks like a tiefling.

"Your survival isn't guaranteed, but you go home with your weight in gold if you do it."

Mummy guy's voice is familiar for some reason. Other than that... nothing. The wheelchair's very familiar though.
"Hi? Oh, whatever. Oi, you giant. Why are you heading this way?"

 

"Because of the massive explosion? I feel like I should know you from some other disaster..."

 

hue

 

"Can you fuck off for a second, I probably am in danger and I'm tired as hell".

 

I go over to the innkeeper.
Thorston: "A room, please?"

"Fine she's now the leader, I think, of a group of mercenaries, that first kidnapped me in some shed house, then I escaped from them and found more of them in Riverthrone, so I started to kill them on a path to vengeance, I killed their leader in a back alley, and killed their best alchemists and accidentally burnt down the town, I passed out and the mercenaries forced me to join them because I killed their people. Do you really think she can live? Oh yeah also they tried killing gods or something"

 

“All right, you have yourself a deal. There’s just one thing you need to know; I can’t make my undead do much without some... encouragement. I basically need magical powders, plants, or body parts depending on what you want them to do. I might need some particular items if you guys want to do something... extreme.”

I raise my jead and look at you.
"Are you going to kill a god?.."

 

"No I'm killing the guys who want to kill the gods, plus I already ruined their plans by drinking one of a kind potion"

 

*visibly confused*
"So are you the bad guy?.."

 

"Saving gods, ruing their plans forever, killing kidnappers from a cult, sacrificing an artifact to kill an elemental. Yes, I'm the worst"

 

"..."
"Okay."

"Hrm.... the inn, wasn't it?"

Whoever it is staggers back a few steps and...
Seems familiar. Odd

The old lady sizes you up for a bit before she answers you.
"Single er shared? Yer tiny, I dowanna waste an entire room on yeh."

"Might set us back 20 or so minutes... done. We just need something big and flashy. You have ingredients for that?"

Zeth: "..It's pretty obvious that even with the good deed stuff, you're less than healthy to be around. I've got places to be. Bye."
A single blink after he says bye and he's gone. Literally a blink, too. A split second and he disappears.

Matt just looks like he's done.

 

What did I see? Since I couldn't see them before as they were non magical iirc

 

"... maybe?"
I continue towards the explosion

 

I go see whoever did I scare off.

 

"Smart, okay I'll be off then" I start heading off on a quest to find a different bookstore assuming the last one blew up
