Mystery Of The Gren Family

You all remember this guy, Lieutenant Gren from General's Orders?

Well at first I thought he was just some random Quest NPC, until I was re-doing Maiden Tower. In the catacombs puzzle, I found this.

Crazy right? Here's my theory.

Mr and Mrs Gren were two soldiers who fell in love and got married in the military. One day, they were fighting the monsters around Thanos, and Mrs Gren was tragically killed by a troll. Lieutenant Gren was heartbroken, and quit fighting to help the general around the fort, and to help random adventurers blow up walls, fearing he would meet the same fate as his beloved, dead wife, who was then buried in Olux.

What do you guys think? Do you have any theories of your own? This mystery must be solved!

what do the pictures have to do with the faunt?

 

If there was tiny font, and huge pictures, it wouldn't look well together, because the pictures would be like 1000x bigger than the font so it'd look weird

 

Wait, there’s a puzzle in Maiden Tower? I just teleported up to the top and killed the boss.

What is this ‘coincidence’ you speak of

 

That they randomly picked the same name for both the NPC and the grave. Lieutenant Gren never mentions having a dead wife or being married at all, and none of the names of the graves in the catacombs are given any real significance even within the quest. Given also the name's simplicity and the numerous number of NPCs, it's not hard to imagine that they would reuse some names. Heck, for all we know the grave could belong to his great-grandmother.
