Rp - Gavel's Darkest Hour- Act Two Begins [7/7]

No - he is indeed a private detective, and he was investigating the theft of the papers.

You hide behind one of the rocks and you see Remfir raise the sword and bring it down, severing the detective's head.
"Where's the other one?", she calls out. "Where'd that blasted Gert go?

No, he goes into the shop. Esmé remains on his tail, slowing down to a graceful walk as she enters the shop. She gestures for you not to come too.

There's a deafening roar, and the Ozoth lands right in front of the pair of you. Bantira tries to stand up but falls, and continues to crawl towards you.
"Where is my treasure?", she says.

Uh, there was a dwarf thief named uh, Kazuma who stole the eye from me. Luckily I still have a stash of gold in the Dwarven ruins!

 

Look over to where it's original position was.

 

"You sure its a good idea to keep lying to a dragon?" I whisper

 

I whisper back, Im dead anyways. This will cause her to get angry. I can run and distract. I dont want to cause more deaths. Tell the others to get away. I doubt you could even harm her

"I doubt the dragon will have much trouble skewering you and I don't intend on just letting you die. Although a distraction would be nice. Keep it talking here for as long as you can, I'll pretend to run off and then sneak around behind her. Good luck."
I pretend to scurry off and grab Bantira along the way as I take a route to get behind the dragon without being seen.

Cold. Deliberately letting soldiers mistakenly kill an innocent detective? I'll make sure to guilt you about it in your next dream.
"Ah." She goes round the rock and approaches you. "Don't worry, she's not interested in us. Attacking the Dogun staircase, I think. So, where did the other accomplice go?"

Looking at the polished floorboards, you see light scratch marks leading to the back door of the hall, where two guards are stationed. It must have been carried in from another part of the palace. Elimut is glaring at you now.

You hear very loud Dwarven whispers coming from behind you.
"Shit! Kazuma, how the fuck'd he know?"
"No time for that, we have to get this thing out of here!"
"Down the staircase? -you grab the other end - ugh, why are these gems so fucking heavy!?"
"Your advert said you could handle it, I'm not helping."
Ozoth turns her head towards the sound and raises an eyebrow.
"Is that the thief you speak of?"

You run off and Ozoth doesn't seem to care. The crowds from the rally are dangerously close to Ozoth now, and you take Bantira's arm and put it over your shoulder. She tries to hop along with her working foot, but you're still pretty slow together.

 

Yep, dwarfs snatched them under my nose.

While Ozoth looks in their direction, I make a facial signal of what the fuck are you doing to that dogun.

 

I tried to explain they weren't the accomplice.
"As gert said, not accomplice. Brought here accident. Cuffbreak not signal."

"haha maybe i wont die after all. If that dwarf actually has what the dragon wants, everything'll be a lot better for everyone."

Wink at him discreetly and innocently, as if there was a joke only the two of us could understand.

 

You hear a whispered Dogun voice right in your ear; "Don't move. Let her chase them. Or we won't hesitate to kill you."
There seems to be nobody there, and as you flail for them, they've gone. The two dwarves emerge and carry an enormous, slightly glowing orange gem, about two metres long, one metre wide and half a metre deep towards the staircase.
"What exactly do you think you're doing?", Ozoth says softly, turning in their direction.

...no. There's Togak, Abbot Tranki, two Sol Embassy elves, five delegates from the Forest Coalition, three Grand Academy teachers and four Bantisu monks, along with two Cinfras guards at each door. Most of them are standing around, talking amongst themselves, Tranki is alone in a corner and Elimut is staring at Hels.

She shakes her head. "He was definitely lying. This is extremely fishy."

She takes a step back and a look of horror spreads across her face.
"Oh no. Fuck, what do we do now? You - why the fuck didn't you stop us? Where are the other accomplices!? Give me one reason why we shouldn't kill you too!"

 

I whisper back:
I assume your with that magician dogun? Or is it a "the bird flies east." Please don't at least do anything to piss the unkillable dragon off.

 

"Well can you read their minds to make sure?"

 

Wait I read this wrong I thought she gesturred for me to come it.

I stay out and is there like a back alley window?

 

"I SAID NOT ACCOMPLICE! You not listen. Cannot stop countless dwarves. Now gert not want work with you for not listen."

"Ugh."
I walk away.
"Also gert not say signal."

For some reason I thought there was a short break in the doscussion where everyone left the room to dp their own thing for a bit before coming back. .-.
