"That.. is a possibility. There is no way for certain."

 

"Your Shadow friends took good care of us while we were wounded. Those humans used cheap and dirty tactics..." Sidus says with anger in his voice as he puts Katie down.

"Sidus, not in front of Katie." Aquira says, putting a hand on Sidus' shoulder with a serious stare.

"You should come meet my new friend, she's really nice!" Katie says, gesturing to Fable as she leads Aquira and Sidus over.

 

Fable waves.
“Hi. I’m Fable. Don’t shake my hand.”

There’s gotta be someone who knows, right? It’s not like everyone’s as clueless as us.

 

"It's nice to meet you, Fable. I'm Sidus, Katie's father." Sidus says, greeting Fable with a bow.

"I'm Aquira, Katie's mother and capt-" Aquira says, before cutting herself off, looking a little saddened.

 

“You’ve raised a really nice daughter. She’s trying to help me find a wielder - I’m a living weapon, you see. Though, I think it’s best we ignore what I was built to combat...”

 

"A...living weapon?" Aquira asks, turning to Sidus who looks just as confused as she is.

"Do you act like a sword for hire then?" Sidus asks.

 

"Maybe there's some sort of mayor? You know, someone who runs this place and everyone knows about."

 

“No. So...”
Fable lowers her hands to the ground, closes her eyes, then transforms into a pair of gauntlets which roll on their sides. After a few seconds, she transforms back.
“I’m literally a walking weapon.”

No better person to ask who the mayor is than the guards.

Pause.

...So if you could, like, fly down there...

 

"That's...new." Aquira says, surprised.

"Why do you need a wielder?" Sidus asks.

 

“Don’t need, want. You ever sit around in an empty field until the planet you were sitting on dies? Pretty dull. Plus, then I can go places and not worry about my absurd strength scaring everyone off. I knocked on the ground once as if it were a glass door, and that caused a noticable tremor.” Fable shrugs.

 

"I..." Aquira tries to say, but looks lost.

"We were going to find Terra so he could wield her!" Katie says happily.

 

“Here, better example - if I shook your hand, you wouldn’t have a hand. If I have a wielder, I wouldn’t need to worry about that.”

 

"So you need someone to regulate your power?" Sidus asks, trying to understand.

 

“Kinda, yeah. A better way to think of it is that having a wielder gives me an off switch.”

 

Sidus nods, understanding.

"Katie, how about we go home? I've been away from the sea a little too long." Aquira suggests, looking at Katie.

"Sure! Can my friend come too?" Katie asks.

"Certainly." Sidus responds, heading to the elevator hand-in-hand with Aquira. Katie follows happily.

 

"Right. Let me just.."

He starts to descend until he's back on the ground.

"There we go."

 

It takes a bit to get used to walking again - you’d been floating around for a while.

Man, flying’s weird...

Fable follows, once again silent and sticking close-ish to Katie.

 

"It is fun though. And saves a lot of time."

 

Katie and her parents teleport the group to the portal room, using the computer there to open a portal to a familiar beach.

 

The giant seems a bit startled, looking down towards the fae.
“A whut-now?”
“Who’re you?”
The man turns, whipping his sliver hair around, and glares at the fae.
Voidfiller looks up for a second to look at the fae, but just looks down at the papers again to continue reading.
