Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You certainly seem like you have real feelings." Katie says, confused.

 

"Good to know those three planetary life cycles I spent trying to learn them didn't go to waste." She mumbles.

 

Katie looks concerned.

"We could look for more stuff about Terra. Maybe we could find something about Aqua too." Katie says.

 

Fable nods.
"You lead. Sorry I'm letting my own problems get in the way."

 

Katie heads into another room, this one containing a more macabre selection of items. Glass coffins, shrunken and stone heads and items forged from bone are all on display. Many of the corpses in the coffins look extremely old, mostly bones with bits of dried up flesh under their cloth wraps.

 

Fable again looks for any descriptions given with the displays.

 

One of the corpse's descriptions contains some information that interests Fable.

"Elder Everet, (~1097-1413)
Elder Everet was one of the wisest Earth Guardian elders of his time. He is said to have passed on the beliefs of Terra, and had an extremely strong connection to Lady Gaia. He helped the humans find balance in their construction and expansion, dividing land and building homes for Guardian and Human alike. Like many other elders, his body was preserved quite well and his soul is thought to be at peace with Lady Gaia. Many people today see Elder Everet as a role model to be remembered, especially in trying times of battle."

 

Fable stops.
"Hey, Katie. Maybe this could be a start?"

 

"Huh?" Katie asks, heading over to Fable.

 

Fable points to the plaque.
"If we're going to try and get a lead on Terra, this might help."

 

Katie reads the plaque.

"We could search for one of the elders, maybe they know something?" Katie suggests.

 

"That sounds great and all... but search? Don't you and your friends have some war to fight against that Hive Master guy?"

 

"We do, but we can't fight right now. A lot of us were badly wounded, my friend Stephanie still hasn't recovered and she was hurt a long time ago." Katie says.

 

“I’m sorry to hear that. Are they at least on track to recover?”

 

Katie nods.

Katie's shadow darkens, before a real Shadow forms behind her.

"Miss Katie, your presence is required at the Shadow Palace." The Shadow says, ignoring the looks of surprise around him as he opens a portal.

"What's happened?" Katie asks.

The Shadow just gestures for Katie to walk through. Katie glances at Fable.

 

“If I can’t come, I’m capable of sitting around.” She shrugs. “Done it for really long, now.”

 

"She's my friend and she doesn't mean any harm. She can come, right?" Katie asks the Shadow.

The Shadow narrows his eyes at Fable.

"Very well. She may follow." The Shadow says.

Katie heads through the portal.

 

Fable follows, looking around and seemingly unhindered by the darkness.

 

Fable seems to be in a hospital of some kind, a few wounded or ill looking people sitting about, though soon being called through.

"Please take a seat." The Shadow says as he walks through the portal, the portal itself closing. Katie finds somewhere to sit down, but soon gets up again when a pair of figures walk through the double-doors from the main hospital area.

"Mum! Dad!" Katie says happily as she runs over to Aquira and Sidus, Sidus picking Katie up in a hug.

"I was so worried about you." Katie says, a little teary eyed.

"We were worried about you too, Katie." Aquira says, smiling at Katie. Sidus hugs Katie close in response to her tight grip.

 

Fable smiles, but keeps her distance and her mouth shut.
