Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Fable seems more interested in the descriptions than the pieces themselves, keeping her hands clasped behind her back.


They explode into a flurry of daggers, the other godslayer reforming as they project an aura of null-chronomancy.

Ted looks up briefly before laying his head down again.

 

One of the golems watches Ted intently, while the other walk around while trying to get rid of the magma. One tries with their hands, which ends about as well as you'd expect it to, the golem itself seemingly uncaring. None of the others try with their hands.

 

Ted doesn’t move, and the magma starts to cool off over time and solidify.

 

Once the magma cools, the golems prod it, then get it away from the house. Then most of them enter what's left of the house, looking at the surroundings to get a good idea on what will be needed to remake the house.
Ted notices some opening a hatch and descending into a basement-like area, before quickly leaving it alone.

 

There's a few interesting descriptions, one of a large and very cracked sword, many pieces missing.

"A common belief is that this sword was wielded by an ancient and powerful guardian named Terra. What happened to Terra is unknown, though stories from many families foretell of his existence with five other guardians. Excluding that belief, this is an extremely ancient blade forged over thousands of years ago. Time has taken it's toll on this blade and it has not been able to be reconstructed."

Another description catches Fable's eye, under a painting of a flaming ship near to a yellow and green beach, the sky red with an orange figure standing on the beach.

"This piece, named 'Song of Bravery' (est. 1873) was created as an offering to the goddess Gaia. There is no record of Lady Gaia receiving such a piece, though the artist supposedly found great fortune in his future works and endeavors."


A large scytheblade blocks the daggers as the cowboy is moved out of the way, a demon grabbing them and Shadow Stephanie and flying off. The crowds seem to have lost their restraint, and all begin surrounding the figure. In no time, curses, hexes, torturous spells and hypnotizing dances are thrown at the figure, along with many weapons and attacks.

 

“Terra, huh? That sounds like someone who might be able to wield me safely...” Fable mumbles.


Each curse, each hex, each torturous spell is countered with a swift and simple separation of soul from body, hundreds in the crowd just dropping.
The hypnosis seems to have no effect on her, and she looks towards the scytheblade with broadsword in hand.
Every other attack simply bounces off.

Ted pays them no mind, closing his eyes and starting to drift off.

 

"Apparently they all got sealed away for some reason. Nobody knows where they are, or even if they're on Earth." Katie says.


It appears a lot of the crowd is used to the separation, souls still able to fight and some even becoming far stronger. The hexes become more vengeful, and curses more potent. Spirits and spectres pull at the souls of the figures.

The scythe blade appears to be missing, until the figure soon finds it atop her head, coming down with heavy force.

 

After a nice, restful sleep, Ted is very gently shaken, clearly to awaken him.
"Hey. Ted."
"Ya said he just started following you?"
"Sorta. I'n't he cute?"

 

“I wonder if your Gaia knows.”


The figures are soulless, and once the broadsword is plunged into the ground, a lotus of daggers fly and send all they cut through to Oblivion.

The scythe is stopped cold in its tracks, the only mark a tiny scratch.
“Give me the sacrifice, god. I will not kill what regulates reality.” She roars.

Ted yawns and stretches, turning to you with a nervously wagging tail.

 

An amorphous creature continually shifts in front of Ted, crouching. He smells mostly the same as the Human from earlier.
The giant stands behind him, his missing hand replaced with an engineered, mechanical one.
“Hey.”
Voidfiller smiles.
“Wanna come take James home with me?”
He points his thumb to the giant.

 

Ted sniffs at you anyways before sitting down and starting to pant fog at you.

 

Katie shrugs.

A sword made out of mage crystal gleams in the corner of Fable's eye, it's description unique.

"This blade is one of very few left in existence. Only created for one war between rival countries by humans, the mixing of mage crystals with armour and weaponry made many humans a lightning rod for magic, the very items made to protect them turning into the hammer and nails of their coffin."


Crowds are killed, and it seems to cause ruptures in reality, resulting in amalgamations of fused-together creatures and the creation forgotten memories and imaginary beings.

The scythe is raised, and a perfect copy of the figure appears in front of them, ready to sacrifice the figure herself. A herd of rotund sheep bounce by.

 

“Oh, yeah... you should drink something.”
“Ya haven’t given ‘im water?”
“Water kills him. I think. I don’t want to try.”
“Does’e drink, like, fire?”
Voidfiller thinks for a second before creating a small log and handing it to Ted.

 

“Mortals sure are good at killing themselves.” Fable sighs.


The fused and forgotten are cut by the second pulse of daggers, the daggers seeming to mend the fabric of reality they pass by.

The figure crouches, nulling chronomancy as they focus intently on the movement of the scythe.
If it’s brought down within her leaping reach, she cuts the tip of the scythe cleanly off.

Ted sniffs at the log before going back to looking back at you and panting.

 

“What about...”
Voidfiller creates a bowl and puts a portal inside, the portal leading right above lava reachable by a tongue.

 

"Well, after all the damage they've done, it's sort of karma." Katie says.


A thousand souls reach out and grab on to the figure, gripping her with an inescapable grasp as she's pulled toward the scythe and fused into a new tip. The scythe is lifted, then swung as the figure is released, being sent flying through hell.

 

Ted sniffs at it before stretching his neck over it, seeming to enjoy the heat.

“Like what?” Fable asks, curious.


As she’s hit, the souls are rended by daggers and sent to Oblivion.

Once she lands, she smiles.
“Heh... that’ll be quite enough.” She giggles before vanishing.

 

“Ah.”
Voidfiller quickly creates several large planks of wood to make a bonfire next to Ted, lighting it aflame right after.

 

Ted sniffs at the flame before sneezing magma over the wood, going back to sit near the lava.

 

"Well, they polluted oceans with oil and destroyed landmasses with radiation. Oil guardians have become more frequent to deal with it, and radioactive guardians were created. They rarely live even half as long as a human."


The souls appear to be unaffected, unable to be transported.

The figure...can't seem to vanish. The weight of hell's power seems to be growing ever greater, and something blocks her power.
