Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I think my gods are pretty resilient. I could try praying to Gaia!" Katie says positively.


Shadow Stephanie lets go the moment this happens, slicing at the figure in quick succession.

 

Fable hesitates.
“She’s the goddess of life, though... but as long as I don’t punch her, right? Just... keep hands open, fingers spread...”


The daggers instead fly out from the blade, others coming inward to make evasion even more difficult.

 

"Yeah, but she has an earth guardian form that's really tough!" Katie says happily.


Everything goes dark, and Shadow Stephanie dissipates, before apparating away from the figure.

 

Thought so.

"So.. that's this place's guide?"

 

"Katie, I appreciate it, but it's just best I stay away from her. Maybe I can thank her from afar some day." Fable says, concerned.


They put their blade down, reverting into daggers as the broadsword transforms back into the figure.
"Your dominion is more expansive than I first thought... I don't suppose you'll forgive me for underestimating you." Their static-ridden voice echoes.

Why don't you fly down and ask? If they are, then I guess that's something these cities have in common... really weird tour guides.

 

"We could look for a church." Katie suggests.


"Gwwmgha tavtql." Shadow Stephanie says demonically.

 

“I’ll worry about that later.


“Spread some blood around and try writing, if you’re really wanting to get your point across.”

 

"Well, where do you want to go now?" Katie asks.


Shadow Stephanie just lets out a demonic roar.

 

“I dunno. There a map somewhere? Not like I know this place... at all.” She shrugs.


The figure fades, leaving.

 

"I don't either, we can explore!" Katie says positively.


Shadow Stephanie roars again, running to where the figure was.

 

“Sounds better than sitting in a wasteland.” Fable smiles. “You lead?”


There’s a small note.
“4 left”

 

"They can get around fast, so that's probably why."

He starts descending.

 

Katie nods, walking through the town. She eventually finds a museum, people heading in and out of it freely.


Shadow Stephanie just rips up the note, roaring before collapsing.

The crowd re-appears along with the colosseum. The cowboy appears next to Shadow Stephanie, looking weak and hurt. They pick Shadow Stephanie up and leave, the crowd looking confused and angry.

 

The giant chuckles.
"You're great, Ted. You're a bad boy, but you're great."
He waggles a finger at Ted.

 

Ted lays down, still confused.

“Start there?” Fable asks, pointing towards the museum.


As the cowboy leaves, there’s another note.
“At midnight, partner.”

A few people look up at you, but most continue minding their own business.

The town seems to be laid out identically to the first one you visited, the same shops in the same locations.

 

The giant scratches Ted on the head a bit before getting up and heading over to the metal building.
“Heh. I can light my cigars on my dawg.”
He says giddily as he trots away.

 

"Sure!" Katie says cheerily, heading toward the museum. It appears to be a history museum based on the advertising banners hung around it.


The cowboy just kicks the note out of the way, leaving.

 

Fable sticks close to Katie, trying not to bump into anyone.


The figure reforms behind them and quickly tries to run as many daggers through the cowboy as possible.

Ted looks at you confused before curling up.

 

"Stay there, I'll be back. Don't burn anything."
He says loudly as he squeezes into the building, the golems keeping an eye on Ted as Voidfiller's possession are mostly scattered around at this point.

 

People don't seem to mind Fable as Katie enters the museum. It appears to be completely free to enter, though there are many signs warning people not to touch anything. Katie heads into one of the rooms in the museum. Historical art and tapestries are hung along the walls while ancient swords lay in glass cases. Each art piece and sword has a metal plaque with a description under them.


The cowboy seems to expect this, spinning one of their guns backwards slowly. The daggers are run through the cowboy, but the damage is reverted as time shifts backwards.
