Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Whoo-aah..."
The human says calmly in reaction to the tongue, his hand layering over itself to reduce the damage.
"See? It's okay."

 

"Relatively self-regulating."


Chronomancy's nullified around them, and again there doesn't seem to be anything to sap.
Daggers fly from all directions, attempting to break the orbs.

The guards fly up to you as you near the walls.
"Hey, just passing through or are you here for something else?" One asks.

It's just barely cool enough not to burn the skin.
Ted sniffs at the hand before licking it again, if allowed.

 

The human crouches down and cups his hand to scratch the side of Ted's face lightly.
"You okay, buddy? I gotta go soon."

 

Ted just sits down and wags his tail, panting steam at you.

 

"Be a good boy, okay?"
The man scratches Ted once more before opening a portal back to the giant and the draconians, starting to go through.

 

Ted runs off towards the cabin.

One draconian on the other side glances at you before turning away from the portal again.

 

The golem that fed him before gets up and runs after him.

"Hey, I'm back!"
The man fits everything through before closing his portal and approaching the giant.
"Wha-"
Is all the giant manages to get out before the man drops what he's holding and turns into a streak of purple that re-enters the giant.
The giant blinks a bit, slowly, before getting back up and picking up what the man dropped.
"Alrighty then. What'd I miss?"

 

"Get your ass through the portal, we're waiting on you!" The fae shouts as the two draconians hold off several other guards.

 

"Oh okay!"
He excitedly says, slapping the on the half sphere as a hand replacement and rushing through.

 

"Passing through."

 

"Alright, just gotta check. Rest easy, traveler." They nod, landing.

The portal winds up leading to the Void Palace, twelve other draconians standing at the ready on the other side.
The guard that slips through with the rest of your group pretty much immediately gets ripped apart.

Emerald takes a note from above.
"Six casualties. Beating the average." She says before floating off.

 

The giant scans the area, trying to assess the situation.

 

Everyone around him is catching their breath, some finding wounds adrenaline concealed and others trying to snap out of maddened mindstates.

 

The giant leans on his newfound replacement for an hand and whispers a curse under his breath.

 

The fae glances over at you.
"And what's wrong with you?"

 

"Me, fucking up, because I thought we'd be getting back into it once I got back."

 

"And do what? You left nothing behind."

 

"Well, you were waiting on me, weren't you? I left to fix up some stuff so I could continue, but we weren't continuing, so I fucked up."

 

"Thank you."

He continues flying.

 

"Just means you might be ready for the next incursion." The fae shrugs. "Once you find a different puppet, at least."

The town, on the inside, looks similar. However, instead of a ferret running tours, there's a hawk.
