Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The golem doesn't react, other than looking at Ted's tongue once he licks the golem.
Ted could go to the big metal place, or-
"Hey!"
A human-like creature comes jogging out of a log house, holding a giant-wrist-sized semi-circle with a hammer sticking out of the rounded side.
"Ted!"
The creature mimics the giant's voice.

 

Ted trots over to the creature, seeming unsure.

 

"Hey, it's okay."
The human drops the mimicing, sticking out his hand so Ted can smell it.

 

"Sure. Let's try that."

He starts flying around.

 

Katie shrugs.

"Can't you control your power?" Katie asks.


"Don't quite like cowards in my town." The cowboy says, brim of their hat disappearing. They leap over the figure, jamming their sharp boot spurs into the back of their head.

 

"I used to be able to a lot better... then my idiot friends went and killed our high god of time. Now I'm unaffected by chronomancy and don't have the perception speed to be as careful as I used to be."


Not even a scratch.
"If I didn't spill the beans, I'd head right out. Unfortunately, my partner's a bit on the dim side." She says, bashing one of the cowboy's feet with the flat of the blade.

Once outside the city walls, there's... a whole lot of flat. You see dozens, maybe hundreds, of beings seeming lost as they wander around the dream world.

Off in the far far distance, there's another town. It looks similar to the one you started at, though.

Ted pauses, then sniffs at the human's hand before licking it.
Despite the gesture of affection, his tongue is very hot.

 

"We have a god of time, maybe he could help?" Katie asks.


The cowboy seems to have already disappeared. Two shots hit the figure twice, moving at what seems like lightspeed.

 

"Should we be here?"

"Should we be here?"

 

"No, I mean I'm completely immune to chronomancy. He could try and put me back in the stone age and I'd never notice."


His attacks bounce off harmlessly as per usual, and she starts projecting a local chronomancy nullfield that barely covers the entire arena.
She then turns and lunges to cut into Shadow Stephanie.
"But it's not him I'm worried about..." She grins.

I don't see why not.

 

"Is everyone from your reality immune?" Katie asks.


Shadow Stephanie raises a hand and grabs the figure, and they feel a demonic magic grip them, draining them. She lets out a bloody roar.

 

"No, just us slayers."


The grip winds up being... hardly much of a grip, and more of a minor inconvenience. Strangely, there's nothing whatsoever to drain.
They lunge at Shadow Stephanie again, seeming crazed.

 

"Why's that?" Katie asks.


Shadow Stephanie seems to have drained something, as she gets back up, gunshot wound healed. She grabs something to the side of her, and her hand grasps the cowboy, struggling. Shadow Stephanie possesses the cowboy, though more seems to absorb their power as she grows stronger and more demonic, before disappearing entirely.

Ten Shadow Stephanies appear and start attacking the figure, each attack different yet all powerful. Some attack with a paradox blade while others unleash a storm of gunfire.

 

“It’s... hell, I dunno. I’m sure one of the others understands it, all I know is that it’s got something to do with Chronos’ death.”


She shoves the blade into the ground, a storm of daggers erupting throughout the arena.

The gunfire has no visible effect, but the paradox blades seem to warrant the occasional parry. Still, the blades bounce off without even a bit of visible damage.

 

"Can he be revived? If your god of time is dead, surely things would be really weird there." Katie says.


The ten Shadow Stephanies disappear, replaced by six. Or two moving at extreme speed. Or even one, moving at supersonic speed. Either way, their attacks are far to fast to parry all at once.

 

"It does looks the same as where we came in."

 

“Nope, gone for good. Besides, if things were weird there, you’d have noticed during your adventures.”


She pauses before swinging once where Shadow Stephanie would be if her movements remained consistent, a nearly solid wall of daggers forming along one end of the arena in the meantime.

Maybe it’s different on the inside? If it’s not bigger, though, then it’s not where Sgavrinn is.

 

"How long ago did he die?" Katie asks.


They miss completely, and get a retaliatory stab in the neck, dagger twisting and cutting through bone.

 

“Can’t remember. It’s been a really long time, though.”


The dagger just slides off, not even making a scratch.
“In all seriousness, are you trying to hurt me?”

 

"How is time managed in your reality then?" Katie asks.


Everything seems to speed up around the figure as orbs appear around them, sapping their powers. Normally they'd be slow, but with the sped up time, they sap their powers extremely fast.

 

"Won't hurt to check it out."

He float towards the place.
