Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Katie seems happy, following the Earth Guardians and looking around the town. The air around her seems colder, however.


"I guess that'd explain her absences after each time she kills one of the champions then." The half-spider comments.

 

"Cool."
The giant opens up a portal and sticks his gooped hand through.
"I'm gonna cut this off, then go for say, ten minutes. If the giant wakes up, try to calm him down until I'm back, yeah?"
He quickly informs.

 

Fable doesn’t seem to mind much.


“Only one was worthy so far. She’s desperate, though.”

“You’re mind controlling someone?”

 

"Possessing. It's his job, don't worry. I'll repay him for the hand, too, but not right now. I'm fined if he gets killed, though, it's like a renting system... look, couldja just look over him for a quick bit?"

 

“You want us to keep him unconscious or no?”

 

"Nah, just make sure he doesn't psych himself out. Strong willed, though, good guy."
The portal closes, lopping off the hand at the wrist and Ted with it, the hand sticking to the ground of Voidfiller's extradimensional space.
"Shit!"
The giant curses as he starts magically cauterizing the profusely bleeding stump, grinding his teeth as he quickly dips his hand into another portal and slumps to the base of the wall, bandaging the base in what looks to be a horrid attempt at medicine.
A purple streak then rips from the giant's head, the giant himself falling unconscious. The streak forms into a thin humanoid figure before dropping into a portal and disappearing.
The draconians are left with the unconscious giant, slumped to the ground.

 

"Well.. any room can be dark if not lit up."

 

One draconian keeps an eye on the giant while the other steps to the side.

You're really good at making me feel stupid. Still... if it's not a nightmare, then he's somewhere that's super big and really dark. I guess that's sort of a hint?

 

Eventually, Fable is lead to what looks like a large warehouse. Heading inside, there's rows of fold-down seats around a boxing ring. The place is empty, but there are posters strewn randomly about the walls.


"Well, you have power over one of the strongest champions in our history. I'm sure she'd be desperate to please someone more powerful than her, that's what everyone does for him." The half-spider says, pointing a leg at the cloaked figure on the throne.

 

"We should just ask the ferret. He knows this place better then we do."

 

She glances at the ring, looking to see if it’s fairly sturdy or not.


“Your history must be disappointing if a god is the best you have. At least... no, he appears to be a god of death, a guide for spirits. Not the one I was built to end... she’s sealed me for far too long.”

Great. So, second question; how do we get out of Sgavrinn’s head?

 

The ring looks built to withstand a hundred trucks slamming into it. Even the dents don't seem too large, more like scuff marks.


"What's more powerful than a god?" The half-spider asks, confused.

 

“I don’t think it’d hold.” Fable comments.


“Godslayers, potentially. More gods, excess quantities of fleshbags, a higher god...” They rattle on, looking back down in the arena.

 

"It'll hold." The Earth Guardian says proudly.


"There's no gods higher than the ones we have. There are lesser gods though, like the goddess of faeries." The half-spider says.

 

“I hope so... I sort of don’t have money if it doesn’t.”


“Rest your mind. That is false, but I’ve yet to see a fleshbag come close to realizing that.”

 

"What do you want to do while we wait?" Katie asks Fable, smiling.


"Oh god, you've not bought into those delusional humans' idea that there's some kind of all-powerful god that created everything have you?" The half-spider asks.

 

"The same way we got in, I guess. Just.. dream."

He starts focusing on himself and forget about Sgavrinn for a bit.

 

About a minute later, the giant suddenly wakes himself by coughing up some sort of strange bile and seizing a bit.
"Wha-"
Is all he manages to get out before he starts vigorously coughing more.

 

“I dunno. I still don’t know where the ref is, so if you could help me look?”


“There’s more than one, but sounds like they’re on the right track.” The figure shrugs. “But everything? No, that is the role of a high god. It is up to an omnigod to lay the foundation and nothing more.”

The draconian watching him turns away from the bile and stops breathing for a bit, moving it away telekinetically before rubbing some sort of oil under the giant’s nose.
It gives off a somewhat pleasant smell that calms his nerves and makes him slightly numb.

Unsurprisingly, you’re back to seeing your body.

Good thing you’re the brains, because I understood exactly none of what you just pulled off.

 

The giant doesn't take it as a very welcome advance, weakly trying to pull his head away and failing to do so.
"Ugh, what the hell..."
He says slowly, having not yet taken everything in.
