That said, Azura doesn't have a gender listed, so...

I'm not typing 10 pages, so this is basically a tl;dr/w

Spoiler: Overview

Kyre valley has historically been the most populated valley on the northern side of the Wall, holding one of only 2 known land passes between the mountains separating the northern and southern halves of the continent. Despite this, administration has always been delegated to a smaller valley, such as Eood and Red Swallow. The valley has spent 700 years being traded, often violently, between elves, dwarves, and humans, and is a keystone of the region.
Elves were the first settlers of the region, and their handiwork can still be seen and felt in it. For example, the city of Kyuvaar uses an old elven name, roughly translating to "Riverland Harbor". Skirmishes from years 400-600 nearly razed Kyre and multiple other valleys to the ground, eventually coming out in favor of the dwarves, who saw this as rightful mountain territory. However, their reclusion of the last 200 years have led to everything north of the windy river being taken by a comparatively nascent human empire.

Spoiler: Current Politics

Kyre valley is currently administered by the Lord of the Valleys, Abner Sycamore, from his seat in the Riverthrone. He has nearly absolute rule, only superseded by the Emperor himself. Directly below him lie 7 noble families, 4 of which reside in Kyuvaar: the Alsairs, Torins, Kelsas, and the Sycamores themselves. Once the lord dies or retires from his office, the heads of all the families will form a temporary council to administer the city before they vote one of their own into the position a week later. Nominally, the position goes to who they all judge to be most fit for it, but realistically the position goes to the family with the most power and influence, which has been the Sycamores for the last 37 years.

:THINKING:

Han can run on his own, thank you very much. The only person who can't is Matt, and Zeth has already fished some kind of item that makes him lighter out of who knows where.

By the count of 300, the building starts glowing. By the count of 350, the elemental's noticed. By the count of 400, it's over anyway.

The building and the area around it are practically vapourized in a mushroom cloud at least a mile high, and the resulting physical and magic shockwaves knock everyone back at least 10 feet, with the exception of the extremely light Matt, who sails down the street before crashing into a wall.

Ling can see it's core shatter into a dozen pieces, and one of them lands right next to the group, almost like a trophy.

Success.

You're stopped before you can knock by 2 things. The first is guards, the seconds it the impracticality of knocking on a giant gate, and the third is the fact that said gates haven't actually been built yet.

Guard 1: "What are ye here for?"

Brigands, thieves, terrible lighting, no clue what that sickly green thing on the floor is. Make sure that whoever you rob won't slit your throat in the middle of the night. The common area is bursting with people, people telling of rumors, and people trying to get rumors off of other people. The innkeeper is this kindly looking old woman who looks like she has no place here, but everyone seems to respect her nonetheless.
