Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Katie looks guilty, thinking.

 

“People think they’re cleaning up scum of the land when they go around picking off every bit of resistance. They forget the kids that’re left to thievery, the resentment they make. If you ask me, it’s just shootin’ yourself in the foot, really.”

Ted sort of curls up on your lap, and the rest of your group starts down the other tunnel.

Actually... can’t you, like, fly around if you fall asleep here? If the dragon isn’t asleep, maybe he’s having a bad night somewhere.

 

"Well, um...sacrifices need to be made for the greater good. Sometimes you need to kill a deer so you can live to save more." Katie says, sounding like she's quoting something.

 

“Cleaning out the herd and leaving the fawn is beyond foolish.”

 

"Well.. it is a dream world, so we could do whatever we want."

"Smart thinking, me."

 

"Sometimes...um...Sometimes the herd is too much, and they eat all the...uhm...food." Katie says, struggling.

 

“Ngh.”
He grunts as his group leaves, then starts to pet Ted.
“You’re a good dog.”

 

It was just weird seeing you float off in the real world. Hard to forget that when I’m stuck in one place.

Ted rubs up against your hand a bit before leaning over to scratch his ear.

Fable rests her hand on Katie’s shoulder.
“Hey, we’re here to look for earth guardians, not break your will. Sorry for bringing it up.”

 

The giant beats him to it, scratching his ear for him.
“I need ta get outta this goddamn giant.”

 

Ted relaxes, laying down again and partially rolling over to expose his belly. This, of course, is hindered by the fact that he’s still stuck on your hand.

 

The giant puts his finger to the holes in his cheeks.
“I can’t right now, I’m sorry buddy.”
The giant opens a portal and starts sifting through it, peering in.

 

After a few moments of waiting, Ted rolls back over and curls up again, letting out a sigh.

 

"I'll just give it a try."

Bardock closes his eyes and focuses on levitation.

 

Katie seems distraught, almost looking like she's on the verge of tears.

 

The giant takes out a few bandages, patching up the holes in his cheeks, then puts the spares back in the portal.
He then stands up, and starts slowly making his way after the rest of his group, idly scratching Ted.

 

Fable steps back.
“Hey, don’t sweat it too much. ‘Slong as you’re not an orphan, you’re doing well. I hate it when kids outlive their parents.”

You pass by a snapped bow that looks like it belonged to the dryad you were with, a few daggers sticking out of a nearby corpse.

You find yourself able to float.

Oh, woah... I meant when you sleep and go away from your body, I didn’t know you could do this!

 

The giant takes a survey of the area before looking at the corpse.

 

"W-Well, I almost was." Katie says, looking down.

 

"This is new for me aswell. Uh.. might aswell make good use of it."

Now that he's in the air, he'll try to float above the buildings.

 

“Then you’ve still got ‘em... but in that case, you know exactly how it might feel to have your parents ripped from you. Hell, right? Like being lost in the dark with nobody to turn to?”

You do so with ease, now able to see pretty much everything going on in town... which isn’t too much.

I could get used to this.

There’s a few stray arrows or pieces of armor or weapons broken off, but only the one corpse... which has had their heart ripped out of their body.
