D&d --- Identity

"I was a mechanic at the Arms Factory before it burned down. I fixed the cars and stuff, and tinkered on the side."

 

I continue looking for a place to sit down, as I didn't seem to find any information on the matter last time I did.
"Care to tell me a bit about it?"

 

"Alright, Emily. Where were you attacked, and what was the approximate time and date of the attack?"
Insight: NAT 20. What a waste.

 

"Alright, Lucky. Tell me what I want to know. Where were you attacked, who was with you, how many died, etc. One thing at the time."

 

"How did it burn? The factory, I mean."

 

Right, yeah, you find a place to sit

He takes a heavy sigh. "Yeah. I was playing a football game when I hurt my rib. I was taken to Sacred Heart to get it looked at. I slept there for the night, and when I woke up it was all deserted and broken. Apparently I had been out for over a week. When I woke up, I was alone. I found Emily, Martha, and the others that didn't survive.. That's when the... thing... started attacking. I never got a good look at it, but I did see chairs. Lots of chairs with fireworks on them. I don't know what it did to get the others, but I saw the fireworks shoot off into the sky. And when they did, blood rained down."

Doctor: "I... I don't remember. It was after sunset."

"I was first attacked in the Arms factory, then again here. The first time I was with Emily and Freddy, and the second time with Emma, and with Emily again."

Mechanic: "I don't know, that's the thing. Since then I've been looking at the news papers, it says the cause of the fire is unknown."

 

"Understood, but... Do you at least remember where it happened?"

 

Doctor: "I thought I mention... no, I didn't. It was the hospital. I was caring for a large man missing a leg, then went to rest. I woke up, and the hospital was in ruins."

I lean in, pressing my staff to the ground.

They say, and I quote, "Menacing".

"I want you to tell the truth, if I find out a single goddamn false word comes out of your mouth, there'll be hell to pay, understand?"

"Aha... alright. Well, can you recount the attacks for me? Knowing a date and time would also be nice, if you can recall that."

"If... it's too much for you to speak about, I can... well, I can try to pull it directly from your memory. I'd rather not do it without your permission, though."

"Thank you. Do you know anything else about the incident? Also, if it isn't too painful, do you... Remember in what way the... Victims were killed?"

I try to say it in the most comforting way possible.

 

"I don't know. I was talking in the woods, just out for a stroll, when I tripped on a root or something and hit my head. I woke up there."

He snickers a little. Like how people make jokes when they are scared. "Yeah, ok. I get it."

 

"Taken, alright. What do you think might cause you and Emily to be near each other when those attacks happened?"

 

Mechanic: "I don't know. They were both after sunset. The papers say the factory burned down September 9th, I don't know how long after that I woke up."

 

“I’m serious, Ellis. This is a very serious situation.”
I learn back in my chair.
“Now, you said that you were present for two attacks?”

 

"Woke up?"

"I think we need to back up. Give me your whole account of this story."
