Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Candles!" Katie says happily.

 

“They seem kinda inneficient. Why not just use a torch?”

“That’d just be cruel. We don’t want to give people nightmares.”

Aside from Ted, everyone else slinks out of view as the guards rip through the ashes of the quilt.

An arrow strikes the vial, someone aiming to break it.

 

The arrow strikes and burrows itself the giant's hand, the small vial barely tangible in his grasp.
The giant pops off the cork and downs the vial, and he gags for a second before projectile vomiting over the guards. Bile starts leaking from the holes in his cheeks as his face turns more sickly.

 

"Torches can be...dangerous." Katie says, looking at the flickering candlelight.

 

“Oh, I get it, candles can be in homes too.”

A few melt, the rest back off. One tries countering the bile with fireballs.

 

"Right. Right."

He looks around a bit, looks at the ferret, looks at the groups.
"I'll be taking my leave then, so you can continue what you were doing."

 

The fireballs destroy some of the bile, the impact splashing some of it around.
Anybody that's touching, smelling, or even seeing the bile suddenly feels a wave of extreme nausea hit them, and they get the feeling of the contents of the stomachs rising up to their throats, whether it actually is or not.

 

Katie nods.

"And they're not as fiery." Katie says.

The cave seems to split off in multiple paths. Katie takes a staircase cut into the cave leading upward, candles in small holes the wall.

 

Ted gets splashed and immediately starts squirming. Most of the front line starts to lose their focus, only three getting splashed.

“Do people not like fire here?”

“You know where to find me if you need anything.” He nods, running off again.

 

"Not water guardians. It weakens us." Katie explains.

 

"Sort of."

Bardock starts looking around town for Sgavrinn.

 

The giant creates a metal knife, closes his eyes, and plunges it into Ted to try and make him melt.
Those in contact with the vomit feel the immediate need and want to heave out their own meals out in front of them.

 

“That’s weird. Isn’t elemental water strong against elemental fire?”

After two hours of roaming around and seeing the ferret run around about every five minutes, Sgavrinn seems to still be completely absent.

Ted winds up dripping most of the way off your hand, now with a leg and tail on one side with the rest of him on the other.
One doubles over and vomits, the others try to projectile it at you.

 

"Yes. Water can suffocate fires, but fire can evaporate water." Katie explains.

 

“And torches make you worry?”

 

"hmm... I wonder if he's even around."

 

A sudden and strong wind pushes the vomit to the ground, giving them little distance forward.
The giant starts making a wall of stone in between him and the mind-controlled guards, the vomit still sickening as ever.

 

"Torches have been used against me..." Katie says, seeming a little disturbed.

 

Doing so causes the area around the wall start to glow faintly red.

I mean, you're the one with the eyes, and you haven't seem him. What'll you do if he's not here? Not like you do anything other than follow him around.

"What, were you standing still? You've got a weapon, girl, don't take that shit."

 

"I'd rather not talk about it." Katie says, looking away.
