Horses Are A Problem.

So I was trying to breed a new horse so I could hopefully get from a black horse to a chestnut horse, but I accidentally combined my black horse and a brown horse, I then went on to spend around 3 LE to try and get just a black horse back, but no luck, so now I'm sitting here with no money and no good horse.

I'm not asking for specific help but I'm just saying that its a problem that all horses look the exact same, I think there should be changes made so different horse spawners look different so people like me won't make the same mistake again, as this is my second time doing this.

 

This is something that a lot of people are not aware of, even happened to me when I joined the game for the first time.

This is something that should be changed, maybe not replacing the saddle for the horses, just make it not work if one of the horses is not of the same tier

 

This is a great idea, although changing the saddles to look different from each other isn't really possible. They can't do that in the wynnpack as that'd require optifine's cit feature if they weren't to make them all different items, and the server is supposed to be without mod requirements. Aws404 has made a resource pack where the saddles have different colors depending on which tier they are using that optifine feature, so if you really want it you can use that.

Well, we could just make horses a completely different item and remodel them to look like saddles. However, this would mean that all old horses would still look the same

 

then make a horse merchant (that changes old to new)

 

Can just use 1.9 durability texturing. Change the item to something that can have durability, and make the texture a saddle. The. change the durability and then just add slightly different textures through new predicates in the Wynn pack.

Maybe a different color highlight

 

Use WynnImprovements texture pack, it has different saddle textures for each horse

 

Just hit 5 LE spent on trying to get a black horse, with nothing to show for it but a brown horse. Really shows how the gambling system is not good.

 

It's actually great, it's one of the best money sink in the game.
You should use one of the resourcepacks that changes the saddle color. They could probably change the item though!

 

Maybe a 1.11 name texturing is better?

 

No real reason to do that over 1.9, so ig doesn’t matter... didn’t know 1.11 added name based textures

 

Never breed horses, buy them.

 

Use WynnImprovements. Each saddle is colored based on the horse type.

saddle for brown horse
iron horse armor for black
gold for chestnut
and diamond for white

This is why I read the names of my horses before breeding them.
