Esmé looks engrossed in Elimut's book and barely notices you coming in, only giving a brief nod. You take the mind-reading book off the shelf.
"Clarvoyance is a rare gift that permeates the populace of all races - even those with no inclination towards magic. It is nearly impossible to learn, but it has been done." Elimut has circled the last part and annotated it with a winking face and his signature. "Such a process is too complex to cover in this book, which will focus on the extension of one's clairvoyant powers to mind reading."

Well, stopping the bleeding is only a temporary solution, but it probably fits that best.
"Are you going to let us through or what?", the guard shouts.

He hands you the emeralds. "Pleasure. Are you going to Torl's rally? Can't say I care for her but a lot certainly do."

You hear his footsteps go down the stairs.
"No weapons, everyone. Have to hope nobody steals them."

 

I put it back realizing this is also out of my skill level. Next up the one about elf plant magic

 

Kick the chair out of the way and open the door, still holding a sword in front of me. Also, hold Rin's hand again.

"Elfen Magicks have longe been iknored, but this Comprehensive Study will show the extente of the Magicks of Elfs in Botanie. Looking through the contents page you turn to "Ye Basicks", and begin to read. It looks like the simplest interesting spell is used to aid plant growth. The explanation is confusing, but you feel you understand it well enough. You see that Elimut has several plants on his desk, all appearing magical in some way. There's a rose with glowing thorns, a pot of what looks like bright yellow grass, growing itself into geometric shapes, and a miniature tree with tiny pink lemons on it. You worry that the magic of the plants could influence the spell.

Oh, I accidentally gave you a reason to change together. This was not planned at all...

You pull off the uniform and put your far more comfortable normal clothes back on. The guards seem to be waiting downstairs.

1) paying attention to her injury
2) trying to figure out how this situation will affect her in the future

The corridor is empty, but as you arrive downstairs, you see the bar area is wrecked. The body of the innkeeper lies against the wall, half his face blown off. A large singed hole is left in the bar and barrels have been smashed on the floor, contents spilling everywhere. Chairs and tables in various states scatter the floor. The guards are sitting at one of the intact tables, two of them still itching their ankles.
"Hey! You said no weapons!" one shouts, pointing at the sword.

As you go back, a guard opens the door. "Deepwater? Kalitsk? I have to escort you to Dermit." Esmé enters the study, completely naked.
"Oh my, uh Elimut did warn me... but he didn't-"
She shrugs. "I thought it would make Dermit uncomfortable."
"Uh, okay? Shall we, proceed?"

 

Point at the body of the innkeeper then scabbard the sword. "I also said to settle this peacefully. How is that peaceful?!"
