SPOILER How Corruption Affects People

So you’re saying when corruption is formed the nether is ALSO formed?

If so, then why is there no portal where corruption forms other times? Like in the realm of light corruption formed because of the dark seeds coming into contact with the pure realm, no portal was created then.

Also how long do you think the portal existed before the corruption. Maybe the portal simply released the corruption?

 

Maybe because it's in the realm of light. Darkness + light = corruption so it wasn't actually the corruption spreading (like in Wynn) but just what happens when darkness and light collide. And by that time there already was a portal so there's no reason there would be a new one.

 

But the corruption in Wynn is there for the same reason. Dark and light (dern and gavel) are too close

 

Yes but there's not physically any darkness and light interacting.

 

Maybe the nether portal goes to the realm where light and dark originally clashed, which is why it's corrupted, and Wynn's proximity to both Dern and Gavel just exacerbated the problem in wynn?

 

I’ve been thinking about it like magnets. IF you have two magnets that are repelling each other the smaller magnets will repell each other closer than the larger magnets will.

The larger magnets will repell each other from much farther away.

I think of gavel as the province of light due to their connection with the realm of light. Then the province / region beyond the abandoned mines being darkness.

Two VERY big magnets. They’re far away, but their effects can still be seen in Wynn as the corruption, no?

Still begs the question why is the portal there. Maybe there is no explanation. Maybe gavel and dern or whatever province is south of Wynn have no true polarity and the position of the realms (or where their portals are) have to do with corruption. The realm of light and dark sandwiches the realm of the nether. Maybe the corruption originated there, and then spread to Wynn only once the miners opened the portal.

But yes, that’s what I’m saying. The Realm and the Force are one and the same. When the parasites attacked the Realm of Light, then Light itself suffered. When the Corruption was created, so too was the Nether. Then some time after that, the miners dig into the red rock that formed around the portal, revealing the portal itself

 

I still don’t see how there’s any proof or reason to believe the nether was created by the corruption. Really it doesn’t seem there’s any way to truly explain it

 

I don’t think it’s one was created by the other. More like they are the same thing in a sense

well the corrupted roots are pretty big
the other corrupted places are usually a lot more minor
i guess it is safe to say that the corruption must have grown a lot to create portals
