Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Well, my name is Katie." Katie says with a smile, walking over.

 

“Nice to meet you, I suppose. Are you mourning Gaia’s defeat, or are you one of several people hoping to pick treasures from the ashes?”

 

"Neither, I've come to see what happened." Katie says.

 

“Well, there’s not much to see now, is there?” They say, gesturing at the palace ruins.

 

The giant sticks his hand and arm through a portal, the other side of the portal being behind the shield-bearer. He tries to grab him through the portal and drag him to the ground.

 

Katie laughs, "Yeah, there really isn't." She says happily.

"...Is there any water around here?" Katie asks after a pause.

 

"Yeah. Yeah."

 

“Not nearby, no.” They say, tossing her a metal water bottle.

There’s still a bunch of questions I have for him too. I mean, it’s not like we’re the first people to pet him or anything.

It’s easy to drag him to the ground, but another guard’s sword cuts into your arm.

 

Katie opens the bottle, drinking from it. The colour in Katie's hair seems to deepen, becoming richer than it was before.

 

The giant flings the shield-bearer into the other guard, then tries to get up again.

 

Bardock starts drifting of to dreamland.

 

There’s a trace amount of an odd metal taste in the water, but that seems to be why the bottle is producing its own water.

Nothing stops you this time, but Ted seems adverse to being on the front line.

As per usual, you find yourself in an open field. This time, however, you’re alone. Instead of Sgavrinn, there’s just a shovel.

 

"Right. To that cave."

He takes the shovel and starts digging.

 

Katie doesn't mind, handing the bottle back after she's finished.

"Thank you." Katie says respectfully.

 

The giant ignores him, closing the portals and focusing on the battle.

 

"The number of people stranded without water or food is almost comical, particularly those who have put themselves in such a position." They say, putting the bottle into their backpack.
"I suppose I may as well return the favor from earlier. I'm Fable."

The others start providing some covering fire, but you've still got a wall of lances to get past.

As expected, the ground gives out after a while and you fall onto the cavern floor. There's several crystals near you that probably fell down with you.

 

"Okay. How did this work again?"

He grabs one of the crystals and starts heading towards the mansion that was in the cave.

 

With crystal in hand, you actually reach the mansion. There's a lone guard at the gate.
"Welcome, again. Heading inside?"

 

"Hi. Yes. I am."

 

The giant opens a portal going beneath one of the lance-wielders, pulling them by the foot to the other side and then throwing them right into the wall of lances.
