Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Completely clear blue skies contrast the lifeless ash and dust that lays around her. There’s no signs of life, not even so much as a blade of grass visible outside the palace walls.

Ted wags his tail nervously, either choosing not to communicate or not able to.

“That’s all we can do, anyways. To be honest, I got into magic to try and find a way to make sure.”

 

"That's a good boy."
The giant, in a long retracting of the arm, pulls out what looks to be a modified battering ram of sorts, nearly leaking magic. He closes the portal, and motions for everyone to move.

 

Everyone’s already given you a fair amount of space, hold Ted for obvious reasons.

 

"Yeah. I'll just go to bed then, if you don't mind."

 

“That’s fine. I’ll wake you if I get lucky and find them before sunrise.” She nods.

 

The giant sets down the battering ram, performing a bit of a flourish once he does, before picking the ram back up again. As he picks the ram back up, it's evident that the area has become silent. He then flips up a sort of handlebar on the ram and grips it, pressing some places on the bar. In a few seconds, the back of the battering ram flares up, trying to drive it forward. The giant seems to be actively trying to hold his ground, forcing the battering ram to just stay in the air. At intervals, the ram flares up even more, straining the giant.

 

"Good night anyways."

He waves and heads for the bedrooms.

 

The group backs up even further, and Ted seems to be intimidated by the ram.

"Sleep well, you might be sore in the morning."

 

"Mhm."

He leaves the room.

 

Anne's already asleep curled up on a pillow next to the mattress.

You really want to figure out what happened to your parents, don't you?

 

Katie tries to sense if there's any water nearby, concerned.

 

Not a drop, and hardly a remnant of humidity in the air. Despite this, the air is cool... albeit eerily still.

 

"Hello?" Katie calls out, albeit nervously.

 

Her voice echoes in the broken hall, but she receives no other response.

 

Katie starts exploring, hoping to find any sources of water as she does.

 

Outside the palace are heaps of soot and ash, dry riverbeds, and extremely tall mountains... that, or the palace is built in a massive crater.

 

Katie looks around for any evidence of...any life at all.

 

As far as she's able to tell, there's no signs left at all.

 

Bardock gives a kiss on Anne's head and goes to sleep aswell.

(Hell yeah I do.)

 

Katie keeps moving forward, hoping to find something in the crater-like area.
