Well, there's no reason for them to have you there anymore, and they're obviously pretty concerned about security.

"Well, I don't fancy your chances alone. You need me to find a place to sleep and I need you for... other reasons. It's a win-win, if you think about it."

 

"Okay then I have a couple of questions. Why bribe two shopkeepers?"

 

I turn to Hels

I start going towards the volcano

 

I shrug.
"We could go back to the inn."

 

"Little girl, STAY INSIDE! Don't be caught in my mess!"

Try to lose them in the village

 

"Oh, you only met two of them did you?"
She starts walking towards the door you came in through.
"Excuse me, sir", she says to him, and he lets you both back through.

Your hunting instincts helping you steer clear of threats on the way, you make your way across the treacherous landscape. You end up taking quite a roundabout route, but you eventually reach what seems to be a Dogun town built along a lava river. Most of the buildings are tents, but there are quite a lot of stone buildings near the front. The streets are mostly empty, but candles are lit all over the town. A lot of guards are stationed around the perimeter.

 

"Let's go."
I follow Hels if he starts to move.

 

She starts banging on the door. "Daddy! Let me inside!"
You down a side street and the lead Dogun immediately gives the order to fan out. You run, around, but you're always in sight of at least one of them. You come to an bar that appears to be open, and you could knock on the doors of the houses. While you look for a way out, you hear a scream coming from the direction of the little girl.

 

I move out and towards the inn

 

Crossing the bridge and towards the inn, another two guards let you pass. The streets are empty apart from messengers still shouting down every street about the deaths of Doushoins and King Brian. The bar area of the inn is very busy but the tone is very sombre - it seems that a lot of villagers have turned to drink in the face of this news. "Evening", the innkeeper says drily from behind the bar. "You going straight to the room?"

 

"I myself am. All I want right now is to sleep." I turn to Rin. "And think a bit."

I nod my head.

 

Go into the room.

"Never you mind."
She goes round another corner and up two flights of stairs, and into a much grander hallway, using a bright silver key. She pushes open the third door on the right. Inside is a fairly large bedroom. The walls are painted yellow and Greater Aldorei banners hang above the double bed. Two enormous sunflowers sit in pots and there's a well-stocked bookshelf full of scrolls. The whole room has a light and airy atmosphere. The torches are out, only the moonlight streams through the window. Esmé sweeps you inside and locks the door behind her, shutting off light from the corridor.
"Much nicer than that inn, wouldn't you say?"

It's pretty much as you left it. A candle has been lit on the windowsill, and the bed has been made.
