Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Mortius stays quiet, an extension of himself helping souls on.


Eve shakes her head.


Onyx keeps hissing, claws extended.

 

"Have it your way. I'm grabbing a blanket."

 

Amber hooks her lance on her armor.
"Well, nice meeting you, and thanks for not trying to kill me. Or killing me, not trying to say you're weak."


"Then why not just shoot?"

She transforms back, spitting a tiny ice shard at Onyx.

She shrugs, padding around on the pillow she was laying on to even it out.

 

"Thank you for the assistance with the dead." Mortius responds.


"Fun." Eve says, smiling.


Onyx moves out of the way, continuing to hiss and flare up her hair.

 

Amber nods, leaving.


Emerald rolls her eyes.
"Anyhow, this library's meant to be a respite from any sort of conflict. If you weren't a valuable ally, I'd be kicking you out a minute ago."

Avis seems less intimidated, just sitting on top of the ladder.

 

Mortius disappears with a cold wind.


Eve shrugs.


Onyx heads toward the base of the ladder.

 

Bardock prepares some of the pillows, stretching them out a bit to make them comfortable.

 

"I don't know why you'd think that I'd put anything out there that would put your group at risk."

Avis just watches, silent.

One of them is too firm to stretch out; but the others are extremely soft and airy, letting you change their shape easily.

 

"Alright. All good."

He places the pillow on the bed.
"Wanna check on Rema?"

 

Is the spiked armor still in the giant's foot?

 

"I don't." Eve says.


Onyx hisses at Avis again.

 

She shakes her head.
“That’s personal. I’ll leave that to you.”

“Why restrict people from reading folktales? That’s no crime.”


Avis just sits there.

It’s not stuck in his foot, but it did draw blood.

 

Eve looks confused.


Onyx leaves, frustrated, looking around.

 

The giant backs up a bit, seeming to grimace, but the wood and nails in his mouth prevent him from doing so.

 

“One person you shot was reading merfolk fables, and the other spent three days going through novels.”


Avis follows her to the door, confused.

You just back into the side of the cave with a thump.

 

The giant lets out a deep sigh through the nose as it sticks its bleeding foot through a portal and looks at the group.

 

“Could probably get Ted to cauterize it.” The dryad grumbles.
“He named it already?!” One fae asks, something between surprised and disgusted.

 

"That's fine. I'll see you in a bit then."

Bardock leaves the room.

 

"They were probably just doing that so they wouldn't draw immediate attention." Eve says.


Onyx goes to turn the corner, before suddenly turning and leaping onto Avis' back.

 

"Okay, how about these statistics - two hundred and seventy humans from your reality came through, and only one of them read anything other than fiction or folktale. That book was on bladesmithing with forge and hammer, which isn't a particularly big secret if you ask me."


Avis isn't even tipped over by Onyx, but she flops over in response.

Anne nods, only getting up to close the door behind you.

Rema glances up at you.
"Would you mind carrying the medicine over to my partner?"
