[ Reminder ] Do Not Create Alternate Accounts For The 'factions' Event

Just a quick reminder that creating an alternate account for the 'factions' event is not allowed. Yes, I know all of you are excited about it, but only people with special permission are allowed to create and manage them. If you have not received this special permission, don't create an alternate account. Rule 3 of the forum rules is listed below.

3. No Alternate accounts/owning more than 1 account.

You are only allowed one forum account. You are not allowed to share forum accounts or create accounts for groups such as guilds. Alternate forum accounts are called “sockpuppet accounts” and will lead to punishment if created. You are responsible for your own account.

You are also not allowed to create a sockpuppet in order to attempt to evade a forum ban.

Just enjoy the event as it unfolds.

Were there people actually doing that?

 

Yes. There were multiple alt accounts relating to SCP-270. Why someone would do that, I don't know. But some people actually thought they might have had something to do with the event. There could also be other alts with other themes that I don't know about, but either way I'm gonna ignore them unless they're a phone.

The event that started with Pepinos announcement that the summer event was cancelled and now includes all posts from @The Phone

 

does it have an actual post announcing it or explaining what it is in depth?

For the record, the event has nothing to do with the SCP Foundation as far as we know, the only reference was just a small boost to the timer that we received
