Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The giant readies his weapon and leads the group.

 

He grabs the soft ones and places them over the mattress.
He then goes over to the pillows and places those on the mattress aswell.

 

The figure shrugs, nodding before pointing to the spirit of a death guardian. They seem to be in a little bit more control than the other spirits.

 

Anne seems to already have moved some pillows onto the bed.
“How many are you wanting, anyways?”

Five guards are driving two draconians and a fae back, though you have a flanking advantage.

She nods, glancing at the spirit.
“I’m surprised there aren’t more shadows or undead feeding here. Seems like a prime opportunity.”

 

"Undead are only summoned by those with necromantic power. Tenebrae's children likely avoid feeding upon guardian flesh out of respect for their agreement." Amber hears in her mind, the voice like a cold touch of a grave fate.

 

The giant creeps up on one of the guards before stomping down next to them and hitting them with the weapon he took off of the other guard.

 

“I take it necromancy is generally frowned upon, then?” She asks, seeming unfazed by the voice.

 

"They're pretty big. So maybe just enough to fill a row or something."

 

“Four’ll probably be enough, then.” Anne says, putting one more pillow on the bed.

 

"Disturbing the spirits for your own goals is. Reuniting with a lost friend or bringing an ally back to fight a little longer isn't." The figure says in Amber's mind. The heart seems to stop beating as frequently and strongly when Amber can hear the voice.

 

“And if a necromancer needs no other spirit than their own?” Amber asks, a skeleton rising as she raises her lance and disintegrating as she lowers it again.

"The transferal of spirit can be foolish if one's body is not protected." The figure says in Amber's mind.

 

"How many we have?"
Bardock is turned towards the pillows and didn't count them.

 

Anticlimactically, Ted barks and startles all five guards, two of them being knocked down by the draconians, one taking a blow from you, and the other two reaching out to strike at you.

“Modern necromancy is full of pitfalls. I prefer the ancient art, raising the spiritless dead with only the dull motive of their master’s will.”

There’s four on the bed.
“I counted, worry about the sheets.” Anne says.

 

The giant focuses on one, using the weapon to block the strike as he charges.

 

The blow is heavy, almost entirely stopping him in his tracks as the other throws a few kunai at the dryad, who manages to shoot one out of the air and dodge the rest.

 

The giant reaches over with his gooped hand and slaps the back of his hand to the guard's weapon, trying to hit it so that it sticks.

 

"It's possible, but then you desecrate the corpse." The figure says more causally, though still retaining the chilling air about it's voice.

 

"I'll get the sheets."

He grabs the sheets.
"Will you help me get it around the mattress?"
