Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Avis seems amused by the flip, looking at Shadow Stephanie intently.


Amber stops.
“Is this culturally wrong?” She asks, kneeling.

You wind up finding a fae and another dryad, both coughing off to the side of the tunnel.

 

The giant tries scratching Ted to calm him down.
"We tagging with them?"

 

Shadow Stephanie pets Avis on her way out with a smile.


The figure says nothing, though Amber gets a sense of what she's doing is right.

 

Avis cooes happily.


Amber continues, slowly gaining strength as she goes.

 

Shadow Stephanie leaves Avis a small nugget of food, a pleasant smell coming from it.


As Amber continues, her vision begins to change and adapt. Guardians begin to flicker into existence. Some look lost, while others seem scared; embracing one another. However, lot of them begin to find their way to the figure. Strangely, the figure looks more human than they did before.

 

“Why do you have a guard dog on your hand?” The fae asks.

Erre shrugs.

Avis nibbles off a crumb, or at least a small of a piece she can.


Amber pays them little mind, simply continuing on with her burials.

 

“Well, we were fighting, and I thought I might be able to crush him, and then I couldn’t.”
The giant telepathically tells the fae.

 

More spirits emerge as Amber buries more bodies, the spirits of the bodies she buries finding their way to the cloaked figure.

 

"I'll just have a seat somewhere."

 

“Do you want me to kill him off? I can conjure water...”

Anne seems to already have found a rock slab to sit on.
“It shouldn’t take much longer. Maybe five minutes?”

She continues on until nightfall, then stops to look back at the figure.

 

The figure is still watching, though a lot of the spirits have disappeared; those remaining casting a glow in the darkness.

 

“Do you always watch zombies feed on the aftermath?” Amber asks, starting to disintegrate a few more bodies and continue digging.

 

The figure holds out his hand, a necklace falling from it and bouncing on it's chain.

 

She stops, wary as she looks at the necklace.
“I’ve been to hell before, and all due respect, I’d like to not head back.” She mumbles.

 

The figure shakes the necklace, offering it. Amber notices it has a red heart attached to it.

 

Amber takes it to get a closer look at it, though she actively avoids putting it around her neck.
“And the foolish old coot takes the magical charm that will do gods-know-what...” She mumbles to herself.

 

The heart on the necklace pulses occasionally, despite not having any veins to pump blood out of. Amber gets a sense of life and death magic intertwined within the necklace.

 

She hooks it on a bent piece of her armor.
“What’s the price?” She asks as she buries another skull and turns to another few bodies.

 

The figure doesn't respond, but Amber gets the sense it's free; or at least a reward for her burials.

 

She sighs after the next group, shrugging.
“Okay, whatever, here goes nothing.” She grumbles as she puts the necklace on.
